He was pretty bad in the limited amount of snaps he got last season.

Let's see here. He was thrown in at Penn state. Played I think fairly okay... Yes he threw an interception but he made some great throws. 6 for 16 for third string QB. Actually has progressions. He is actually taking snaps with first team on a regular basis and if Johns and Wilson are letting him compete against Lagow I'll take him. Kid stepped up in the pocket for throws. I mean he was mainly scout team if my sources are correct. So yeah I'd look bad too being thrown in at PSU

Yeah Danny is the "starter" as it stands this spring. No one has looked great, but he looks more in tune than Lagow. He isn't ready, but I like the way Austin King has been looking too. He throws a nice ball.

Is this still based on his single-game performance or is there something else?

I really can't see Cameron just suddenly becoming a great passer, so I'd rather roll with the guy who can make things happen with his legs if the passing game fails.

Wasnt Cameron a back-up in high school too? It's nothing personal against him, but he's a walk-on QB who was mainly a back-up in high school who was far from impressive in the one game he appeared in. I think it's fair to be skeptical of his abilities.

I certainly don't hold being skeptical against you, just wanted to know what you were basing your opinion on.

Only a highlight reel but lots of tipped balls at the LOS for the 6'1" Cameron.

Am I missing something? Cameron had 1 balled tipped in this clip, as did Lagow.

In our scheme you just need to understand the reads and be able to throw an accurate and catchable ball in order to be successful (i.e. Cam Coffman) don't need a huge arm. I think it is a little early to push the panic button on any of these guys.

You're right my apologies: one for each. Cameron did have a couple of nice TD throws in that video too.

Although, I disagree with you on not needing a huge arm in our offense. The back shoulder timing passes to the sidelines have been a staple in our offense since Nate has been starter. Our offense did not have that when Nate went out. Need a QB who can get mustard on those throws.

I agree that the offense is operating at it's peak performance when we have a QB who can make those type of throws consistently, but I think that the offense can still be run very effectively without making those throws, so long as the QB makes timely and accurate throws in the short to intermediate game.

Whatever happened to the Pitt QB?

He wasn't offered, but may be in a couple of weeks if he hasn't committed.

Depends on how our QBs finish off the spring.
