akhosrof Posted January 16, 2016 Posted January 16, 2016 Looks like the USF side leaked first as they already hired a new DC. Wonder if Knorr is going to be fired? I also wonder if this hire was related to CKW getting bigger budget for assistants. Allen was a first year DC at an AAC school. IU-alum as well (masters in 2002). Here is his bio:http://www.gousfbulls.com/ViewArticle.dbml?ATCLID=209813153 [attachment=3219:ImageUploadedByBtownBanners1452965518.885333.jpg][attachment=3220:ImageUploadedByBtownBanners1452965527.453514.jpg][attachment=3221:ImageUploadedByBtownBanners1452965534.322390.jpg] Quote
ThompsonHoosier Posted January 16, 2016 Posted January 16, 2016 Maybe a co-DC?? Hard to think Wilson would fire Knorr so quickly! Quote

Popular Post akhosrof Posted January 16, 2016 Author Popular Post Posted January 16, 2016 Was rumored to be a DC candidate for Auburn!http://www.al.com/auburnfootball/index.ssf/2015/12/south_florida_tom_allen_addresses_auburn_defensive_coordinator_rumors.html At first glance this looks like an outstanding hire!Allen's defense ranks in the top 40 of four major categories, including 23rd in scoring defense (21.1 points per game). A 247Sports report linked the first-year USF coach to Auburn's vacancy, which was made available by Will Muschamp's departure to South Carolina. Then throw in the fact he's an Indiana guy. As CKW's friend Good Ol' JR likes to say: [attachment=3222:ImageUploadedByBtownBanners1452966458.748579.jpg] Especially on the recruiting trail! HoosierReb01 Posted January 16, 2016 Posted January 16, 2016 South Florida: Linebackers / assistant head coach / special teams coordinator Raymond Woodie has been promoted to defensive coordinator, and previous defensive coordinator Tom Allen has accepted the defensive coordinator job at Indiana, according to the Tampa Bay Times. lucel15 Posted January 16, 2016 Posted January 16, 2016 Supposedly had a big part in getting Robert nkdemchi............. Spelling is wrong idc. Sounds like a good get it rumor is true. Quote
HoosierReb01 Posted January 16, 2016 Posted January 16, 2016 Could be really interesting even in this recruiting cycle. He is Colin Miller's recruiter to USF, and USF has the interest of a number of IU recruits for this year, including Craig Watts. ThompsonHoosier, lucel15, johnsoniu and 2 others 5 Quote

lucel15 Posted January 16, 2016 Posted January 16, 2016 Any big names besides those we could sway with this "hire" once confirmed. Besides mentioned above Quote

HoosierReb01 Posted January 16, 2016 Posted January 16, 2016 Any big names besides those we could sway with this "hire" once confirmed. Besides mentioned above Hard to say. But there were a number of recruits that both USF and IU were after. It was going to be a very interesting few weeks leading up to signing day already, but it might have just got more so. Would love to see a press release from IU about this. ThompsonHoosier and Walking Boot of Doom 2 Quote
HoosierReb01 Posted January 16, 2016 Posted January 16, 2016 Or we demoted Knorr but gave him incentives lol idk Despite his two years at IU, Knorr has a pretty good record, and I'm betting he could pick up another DC position rather than a demotion. Quote

akhosrof Posted January 16, 2016 Author Posted January 16, 2016 I don't think Allen would have left USF to take a co-DC role at Indiana. His prospect star seems to be on the rise. Especially considering Auburn was looking at him. Stuhoo and lucel15 2 Quote
JaybobHoosier Posted January 16, 2016 Posted January 16, 2016 Welcome aboard Mr. Allen. Please help make the defense better, and can't wait for some IU football! HoosierAloha 1 Quote
akhosrof Posted January 16, 2016 Author Posted January 16, 2016 Fox Sports confirms as well. Wonder what's going on with IU's side of the story? [attachment=3223:ImageUploadedByBtownBanners1452969540.251791.jpg] Quote
Naturalhoosier Posted January 16, 2016 Posted January 16, 2016 Really interested to see what happens here. read an article that Tom helped to put in a 4-5-2 defensive scheme. hope that doesn't mean another scheme change for IU. Class of '66 Old Fart and Walking Boot of Doom 2 Quote
