What are we supposed to do with Duke?

It seems that Coach K has hit a stride here late in his career. This coming year may not be what last year was but Duke fans will be looking forward to the 2016 season and for good reason. While just looking around on 247, CBSSports abs youtube.. Duke may just be stupidly good and could be the team to go undefeated. We don't know who will be leaving off this year's team early. Best bets are Brandon Ingram and Grayson Allen. But even if those two leave the Dukies will bring back Thornton, Kennard, Jeter and Jones. What could put them over the top you may ask? Quite possibly the best package deal you could see in recruiting. Coach K has already gotten a commitment from half of it in 6-8 SF Jayson Tatum. The other part? 6-10 PF Harry Giles who is one of the best prospects over the past decade. So Duke could put out a starting 5 of Thornton, Kennard, Tatum, Giles and Jeter. That's pretty crazy. Coach K has definitely changed his philosophy on recruiting in recent years and it has worked big time. Coach K could going out with a big bang in his last year's. And we can't do anything but respect it.

Ingram is an interesting character. He's an athletic freak (just check out Duke's instagram), but he's also a toothpick. He'll get stronger under a college strength/conditioning program, but it'll take a while for him to bulk up. He will likely be given the key to Duke's offense from the start of the season. I'm curious to see how much Coach K will play him at the 4 this season.

The jury is still out on Grayson. Some people think he is going to be a star, while others feel he would be better served playing in a sixth man role.
 

Personally, I think Thornton will be around two years and Ingram will bolt for the NBA after this season. GIles is heading to either WF or Duke. Also sounds like Frank Jackson will be heading to Duke. For whatever reason, the OP is ready to look at the 2016 season, so ignoring this coming season and looking at 2016:

Kennard

Allen

Taytum

Giles 

 

Jeter, Obi, Vrankovic, Jackson, Robinson and whoever else they recruit.

That's assuming they get the some big commits they are leading on. Some big IFs in there, though.
