ESPNs Way too early top-25

I like Holt being in the starting lineup. Johnson and Hartman being the first off the bench. I actually looked at Holt vs RJ and compared their Per 40 and per 100 possessions stats. Holts were good. I don't really think that there is a clear cut reason to start RJ over Holt. But we'll see what Crean does and how stubborn he'll be with the lineup.

I like holt starting from a height perspective, though he gives great fire power off the bench. A nice burst of energy. I hope RJ can be similar to that. I also think I read Holts been working on his outside game so he can fit the stretch 4 role Crean loves. If he has, we could be dangerous

I wonder at this point if CTC loves the 3 guard lineup or if he did it out of necessity. Because I feel like this year he'll have more options. He could go Yogi, JBJ, Hartman, Troy, Bryant or he could swap Hartman for Holt or he could throw Bielfeldt or Morgan in there somewhere. IU no longer has to play small so we'll have to wait and see if CTC plays small regardless.

From some of those snap chat videos, Holt has been knocking down some 3's in practice.  Even if he's able to step out to 10-12 feet that makes a big difference vs defense just worrying about dunks, lay-ups or put backs

I'm with you. I live in MD and also watched a lot of their games and am friends with lots of their fans. They are definitely talented on paper, and should be the favorite in the Big Ten, but I also think they're being overhyped.

Wells was absolutely the straw that stirred the drink for them last year. They won a lot of close games last year, and it was almost always Wells making the big plays and taking the big shots. I remember when he missed a couple games last year and my friends were saying how they were just an average team without him, but we so good when he was healthy and running the team. Replacing him is a big question mark.

How will Laymen do at the 3? He played a stretch 4 last year and often disappeared in the that role. How will Nickens respond to coming off the bench (he started a lot as a freshmen). How Wiley respond to once again being the 7th-8th guy in the rotation? I bet he was expecting to have a bigger role as a sophomore, as opposed to having Suiamon coming in.

Again, I think they should be the favorite in the conference at this point, but they're not some juggernaut either. They have a lot of talent, but also a lot of question marks.

I don't think the gap between MD and IU is that big.. Yogi dominated Tremble last season and should be able to do the same this season. MD also lost Dez Wells, who was by far the biggest playmaker on the team. Diamond Stone is a huge win but really, their roster doesn't really scare me.
