I've been using Tapatalk since I found this place over a year ago. Works very well for me - gives me the ability to visit all my forum sited in a single app.

First of all, Tapatalk has been updated to take advantage of the larger iPhone 6/6Plus screens, so there's more content per page. The text is huge in the Btown Banners app.

 

Secondly, there are no ads in the Tapatalk app. Especially not the "naughty girls" and dating website/app stuff.

 

In 2 attempts to use the Btown Banners app, I've seen 4 or 5 ads like these, and one more video ad. I get it that the app developer needs to be compensated for his work, but constant nagging is beyond reasonable.

Not quite sure where to begin here... I'll start with the large text I suppose, you can adjust your text size in the app. I'm on a 6+ right now and I would hardly call that large text.

As for the advertisements, I don't control what is shown. I don't know why those are showing up on yours, they don't on mine. If it's anything like how Google ads work (which they are google's mobile ads) then it's based on what google thinks you want to see.

Final comment on "constant nagging" is I have no idea what you are talking about. Who constantly nags you to download the app? I'm very confused by that...

No worries at all. The beauty of the Internet is you can read things wrong. I apparently read your post wrong.

We've thought for awhile about having an Ad free app that you can pay for, but the revenue stream wouldn't make up for the difference. Apps aren't cheap to keep up and running, through Tapatalk especially, so we have to find our place to to get what we can go offset.

I hate ads more than anyone, but without them & the our fantastic donors, BtownBanners wouldn't be free for everyone.

I totally understand the need to generate revenue to cover operating costs. Unfortunately, ads are a necessary evil. Btown Banners is definitely worth supporting, and I will be doing so in the very near future.

Have you tried the app? I know I'm kinda invested in it, but I think it's amazing. 1000% better than mobile web or desktop mode on the phone in my opinion.

Only briefly, that's why I'm asking.  What advantages does it have over desktop mode?  I think the standard version of this site is dang near perfect

I love the app on android. Other than work, where traffic is monitored, I rarely use a computer for browsing. If it aint mobile friendly, I typically don't use it.

As for ads, I don't see them. I would try going into Chrome, go to Settings, then Site Settings and set Pop-ups to "Blocked". If you still see ads I don't know why that would be

Hey if it ain't broke don't fix it! If you like the desktop version by all means keep using it! I think the app is much more streamlined & easier to use for the mobile viewer.

Im the same way. It's easier to use my phone rather than sitting in front of a computer to browse. I don't get any ads either on the app.

What are the other titles? Are they updated/changed via post count? Time on the board?

App will have some issues until new ones are approved. Should be getting closer to that.

I think my suggestion would to be able to tag another member in a forum/article, like you can tag someone on Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, etc. that way the member can be notified and put his input on the that particular topic. Just an idea

You can!   If you click the little window button 3 from the top left, then select BBCode -> Member and type in their name it will tag them  [member='wiljos3390']
