2012-2013 team or 2015-2016 team?

I think you're discounting CWat there. Troy might have better upside but CWat was a very good college player. I would give Watford the edge on defense. Troy looks to get a steal and is disinterested in playing defense half the time.

Love c wat. Just a slight edge to Troy. Agree to disagree.

A lot of that had to do with "The Movement" though, right? We had never seen them play in college. A lot of this years bench players are proven commodities.

The freshmen other than Yogi didn't pan out and Derek Elston was limited because of lingering injury's.

Remy was a nice player off the bench and should have played more down the stretch in my opinion, especially with Jordan's shoulder.

We haven't seen the results for this roster yet but I cant imagine the depth not being better than that squad.

I know there's more athletes on this team.

Comparing players on the teams, not another Crean commentary. Keep on topic

Sorry that you don't like my opinion, but it doesn't matter which team is better. The results will be similar, for the reason that I stated.

I have some concerns about how well and how quickly Bryant will adapt to the college game. The kid is really good, but I'm not ready to pin the "savior" badge on him just yet.

The current team has talent and potential, but I loved the way Cody, Vic, CWat and Jordy played. The 2015-16 team has to figure out how they are going to grow together. There's talent, but it still has to "gel".

Thomas Bryant doesn't have to be a savior. This team is talented enough to do that. I agree with most of what you said besides Thomas. He has to be a defender, score more than hanner did this year and come in with a win all attitude as well as the entire program.

Also need to remember at this point before the 2012-13 season we were looking at a bench of Sheehey, Remy, Roth, Mo Creek, Elston, Ethrington, and then the freshman, so to say the bench was all the Movement going into the 12-13 season is a bit of a stretch.  Now Elston and Creek fought injuries all year (not a shock with Mo, would have loved to see him healthy for 4 years) and AE got hurt early and Roth never returned, but in the spring of 2012 that was what were were projecting to be the bench which had the potential to be great if they could have stayed healthy

I have to agree that Bryant's interior defense will be key. And if he can cause his attitude to infect this team, it could be special. Bryant is going to have to figure stuff out quickly, and I think/hope he's capable. And we all saw the effect that Holt had on Hanner's performance - pushing him to play harder/better. Imaging what having both Holt and Bryant pushing (dragging) Hanner along.

But we will definitely need Yogi's leadership, and JBJ's game to step up in terms of defense, emotion and consistency.

I'm hoping 2015-16 is better.  It'll be my first year at IU so I'd love for it to be a Final Four year and not a year I remember with depression from a Sweet Sixteen loss like 2012-13.

its tough to say but i agree with most on here, that 2012 team was awesome until you got to the bench....I think this team this year will go farther than the sweet sixteen

I think this team goes further in the tournament solely because the regular season won't be as rough.  With four Big Ten teams regularly in the top ten that season, we all had a lot of miles on us by the tournament, and I would argue that in that tournament the Big Ten as a whole underperformed (see Michigan State, Wisconsin, Ohio State and even Michigan who I think should have beaten Louisville).

Oladipo >> RoJo
But, was it just me or did it seem l  it mattered most or when we were playing good teams, Hulls couldn't hit a trey for his life. I may be wrong but it just seemed that way to me. Against teams like Wisco and Syracuse. Even Temple in the tourney.

Yep.  He was a great free throw shooter except for crunch time too.  Great guy, but he was the weak link on that team.  This team seams much deeper.

Also, a senior point guard is a million times better than a freshman point guard.  I have great expectations for this season

I'd say 12-13 had the two best players (VO and Zeller), but top-to-bottom next years team is more talented, and it's best player is at the most important position. Where I lean with the 12-13 team is that while I don't think they're overall as talented, the gap isn't that large. But, where I think the 12-13 team completely trumps next years team is with experience, leadership, intangibles and basketball IQ.

The gap in the intangibles is much wider in the favor of the 12-13 team, than the gap is in talent for next years team.
