Kentucky's trip to the Bahamas

Recommended Posts

"You look at anybody else who played a foreign tour, even in the Bahamas, they were all teams where maybe a 10th-grader might have been the best player on the team," Peevy said. "That wasn't worth it to us."

Wow, why would any college team go on a foreign tour? They could just play their local high schools and get at least 11th and 12th grade talent. This guy is trying awful hard to come up with a justification.

Didn't someone make a crack a while back about how UK fans obsessively talk about IU?

Just sayin...

True enough---I admit I obsess over them because they are winning the wrong way and ruining college basketball.  I will continue to obsess over them until someone beats them----and until the NCAA shuts them down.

But----they also obsess over IU.  Just go any day of the week to the IU BBall twitter and UK fans are constantly on there bad-mouthing the Hoosiers.  If we are so irrelevant---why are they so interested in what we are doing?  Because they know we are slowly awakening----and we have already beaten them once in the last 3 years---and they are afraid of what we may become again!

GO IU!

They discussed this on Around The Horn this afternoon. Summarizing, Plaschke said he doesn't consider UK a college team. At this point everyone knows they're a professional team. I don't know if he was implying what most of us think when we hear "professional" (getting paid), but that is what I inferred. The other writers agreed with him. One even bemoaned the idea that UK was paying $100K to each team competing, including the Dominican and Bahamian national teams, and covering their expenses when there are so many things going under or unfunded at the university.

I consider UK a low-level NBA team too.

I kid the UK fans down here in Southern Indiana that Cal got his wish and is coaching an NBA team again----against college teams---because he couldn't win against real NBA teams when he coached in the pros!
