Pop Culture thread

Recommended Posts

We have a few individual threads for stuff like TV Shows and an individual thread for music. Thought it would be interesting to get a thread to just discuss stuff like movies, other tv shows, other pop culture subjects that come up, etc. We've all got the Hoosiers connection, I know I like discussing these topics with fellow fans just to get their thoughts on things outside of just sports

I know I'm definitely a bit interested in seeing it. Actually had the option of seeing that with a few friends a couple weeks ago, or seeing the Judge (RDJ). We saw The Judge, it was decent, but wasn't exactly creative. Wish we'd seen Fury instead

I'm a big Robert Downey JR fan, so I will want to see The Judge as well...

and honestly...I'm NOT a huge Brad Pitt fan...but I absolutely love WW2 movies (especially with somewhat historic accuracy), so Fury it was...

not going to give any spoilers, but I can't imagine being in a tank in the European Theater going against the German Tigers...absolutely gut wrenching...

I am a big movie buff. Don't get to the theatre like the old days.

Anyway, watched The Purge Anarchy tonight. That movie and it's first could have been really good. Very interesting premise for a thriller movie but the original and it's sequel dropped the ball IMO.

They needed more financial crimes. I tell you, the people who had the most successful nights were the lawyers and businessmen.

Totally agree!  My youngest daughter and I watched the first and both agreed that it could have been brilliant.  I still liked it, but thought that it didn't have the "Oh Wow!" factor.

Watching Sniper currently. Wow.

Edit: Finished it. Unbelievable. I thought people were exaggerating the silence when leaving the theatres. My roommates and I just sat in silence in the living room for a few minutes after the credits rolled. This movie is no joke.
