Archie miller 9-0. Maybe it is us lol

I don't think Archie was a personality fit at IU.  But I do wonder what he could have done at IU with the current transfer portal and NIL.

Not much. Just like Woodson guards consistently looked worse here than they did their previous stops.  Guys came here and forgot how to hit 3s

Yes. I loathe Purdue. But, this man in the linked article? Was one of my high school teachers in the 90's and helped shape my life. One hell of a man.

Myles Rice is better in almost every meaningful statistic than last year playing almost 5 minutes less per game.

Mostly against absolute cupcakes and Whoopdie doo there are exceptions to every terrible coach. But in general this has been where guards come to die for two regimes.

Oh cool one kid whose work ethic exceeds his coaches is triumphing over the adversity of having to coach for a lazy moron.  Doesn’t change the fact that by in large what I said has been the norm

The only other transfer guards who have played meaningful minutes in the last 4 years are X and Parker Stewart. Stewart was only here 1 year and between his dad dying and the step up in competition, not sure he could have been expected to do better.

X’s statistics while at IU were as good if not better than at Pitt. Shooting % up. Assists up. Turnovers less. His one full season at IU looked very similar to his 3 at Pitt. Unfortunately, the other two years were cut short by injuries.

Hard to say he came to IU and died.

Myles Rice fit better in Kyle Smiths offense last year then he does in this system.   He is handcuffed in the system he is currently playing in.    Sometimes there is more than just numbers.  Anyone who watched the kid play last year compared to this year can see the difference.   He still averaged more points, steals, rebounds and assists last year than he currently is at IU.  His shooting numbers are up compared to last so I’m guessing that’s what you’re pointing to but the kid was by far in a better position last year than he is currently.   I loved watching him play all of last year.  It saddens me to have to watch him play in a system that doesn’t fit him

The stats you say he’s down in are really close to last year and he’s played almost 5 less minutes a game. His shooting percentages aren’t even close, they are exceedingly better.

Something must be working to have his 2 pt. fg% up 7 and 3 pt. up 14%.

You think he is an league player currently?

9 game sample size compared to a 35 game sample size

Of course.

My only point is that there’s no proof in the last few years that transfer guards have come to IU to die.

He went 4-25 for 11 points against Louisville, Gonzaga, and Providence. No one cares if a kid can put up stats against Sam Houston. Except you, apparently.
