Guess we pump the brakes on Rutgers. If IU wins next two and Rutgers loses to Wisconsin that game in Bloomington may be a play-in game for NCAA Tourney.

Rutgers is the ultimate Jekyll and Hide team. They can literally beat or lose to anyone. Both us and them are fighting for NCAA lives.

Worth mentioning that coming into tonight, Rutgers' NET ranking was worse than Northwestern's.  NET isn't end-all in selecting teams, but outside of the covid year I think there might not have been teams in the 80s of NET to make the tourney.

They seem to beat the good and lose to the bad.  Michigan tonight sans their head coach and two rotational players would fall more into the latter.

So the key for us to beat Rutgers is to be playing poorly, I guess.

Two free throws for Duke locks it up.  Think Virginia needed that one to get in the conversation.  Their last two games -- Florida St, at Louisivlle -- don't help that much.

Iowa State wins.  West Virginia has lost the last four games, all of which they lead at half.  Mountaineers have now lost 12 of 13 and are 14-14.

Got to love the irony here.    IU can’t close games out  and they put up a graphic of Durham calling him the Closer and showing his numbers in the last 5 min of games.
