Belmont off to a 7-0 start beating Toledo by 15 today.

Keeping an eye on Carmel’s Sam Orme, 6-9 RS SO for Belmont.  Very skilled stretch 4, 18 today and abg 15 a game, 37% 3pfg career.  No inside info but definitely know they are a big IU family.  Seems logical as a potential portal guy for the DDV system.

The last few days I have really tried to watch a lot of these games but I am having trouble getting into a lot of these games. I just think the portal and the NIL stuff has started to dwindle my interest in the games. Even watching the power conference teams I don't know most of the roster. Also the quality of the play in a lot of the games are not up to par. Yes the games have been close but it doesn't mean the quality of play in the court is great.

I know I am in the minority but another problem I have is that they have totally oversaturated the product and there are way to many games on at the same time. What use to make me excited about the games were that they use to seem to be an event but now there is a game at anytime so it makes it less special.

Sounds like heaven

It depends who is playing

For me there are to many of these small tournaments where the matchups are teams that I have little interest in. For me the thrill of championship week was seeing these teams for the first time and then watching them in the tournament. Now these guys are on and it makes it less special for me. For the most part it is not knowing most if these rosters and hopefully once conference games start I will be more into it..

Also to me the college game is trying to be more like the NBA and to me that is a negative. I have a hard time enjoying some of the offenses I see because it is to much ball screens and guys just standing in the corners. What I loved about our team early was they actually were screening off the ball and had player movement which is the style I love.

The hardest game on the schedule is getting Cincy right now.   Buy game right before break.   E Michigan up 13 early in the second half

Saw this post and I promptly flipped over to it.  12 pt. lead for E. Mich with 13 to go.

To each their own.   For me there is no such thing  as teams I have little interest in.  I have no problem watching any team at anytime.   If I waited until championship week to watch some of these smaller conferences and schools then chances are I missed out on a heck of a game on a Tuesday 5 games into the SoCon regular season.  For me seeing these little guys play all year makes championship week more exciting since I will know which schools can make a run in their conference tourney.   I’m not a regular fan though.   Even in the 90’s I was watching small conference teams year round.   Having an aunt and uncle who had one of those big satellites gave access to channels from around the US.  Going over there and watching West coast games was the best.   Boise States old floor brings those memories back.    ESPN then had the  full court offer that gave you access to all the games for a pay per view type price that I had my parents get and then I got it when I went to college.  Now i have just about every streaming service you can think of just to be able to watch as many games as possible.  My passion for college basketball hasn’t changed since those early days.  I’m known as the college basketball guy and I’m more then ok with that.

Cincy finally waking up.  Hopefully it’s too late but usually in these situations the power 5 team seems to always sneak out with a win.   Cincy down 3 with 5:23 to go

I saw where the Bearkittens are down 3 players.  Suspensions?

The other 2 are out for injury as well

Yeah, they showed the three on the bench but offered no explanation.  And Eastern is hanging on!
