If the next coach needs the immediate support of the fan base and the donors, does that pretty much narrow it down to Stevens or a former IU player? If so, I think that would limit us too much.

Greenberg would be okay but I don't think it's a hire that would excite people.

After Knight IU hasn't had one truly great coaching hire. So if the next isn't Brad Stevens, it needs to be someone with strong Indiana ties who is just unproven.

He is an Indiana guy and has turned Illinois around fast. Good recruiter and doesn't put up with players breaking the law

Saying he turned around Illinois is extremely generous. He took a team with a number of another guys recruits to the round of 32 then in his second year they made the second round of the NIT.

Made it to to the round of 32 when they weren't expected to make the tournament at all. Not turned around but I think he seems to be a good coach. Again, he hasn't put up with players crap. Kicked a kid off the team this year who had legal trouble….
