I'm telling you this as someone who has married into an LSU family, they don't care.  All they care about is football.  They could have the # 1 ranked basketball team and I doubt they'd care.  Baseball is higher up on their list down there than basketball.

It all began with their new coach. He is an LSU alum and seems pretty tied in to the HS scene down there. I have no idea if all their incoming talent is southern based, but this surge has happened under his watch. He seems like a decent guy and coach.
