I get that but I thought it was well known that a suspension occurred only after multiple failed tests, which people can debate me on but I think that is the right approach with college students.

I'm pretty sure he said that they decided to release it tonight. Don't know why they'd do that or whether it's true, but I'm almost positive he said that.

Definitely contradicted himself. He made it sound like they meant to put it out there, but he wasn't sure of the specifics of the ESPN article. Still in shock that they took calls last night. Everything about the show was odd.

No, no. He didn't say he was unaware of the failed drug test. He was unaware of the fact that ESPN had reported MULTIPLE failed drug tests.

My guess is that he and the administration were just going to admit to these recent drug test fails, not the originals as well.

He didn't say he was unaware of failed drug tests. He talked about them in first segment. He did say he was unaware of an espn report which was released moments before the show.

No worries, sorry if it seemed blunt. It's been a commonly misunderstood point in the thread thus far. I think the truth is far more cringeworthy. He was there ready to admit part of the truth and was blindsided by all the skeletons in the closet.

That's really troublesome..Deceitfulness is an alarming sign..I never expected that from him.

I imagine its a department policy. I'm not sure if he's allowed to publicly disclose first failed drug tests.

From what I heard they had original planned to let it out tonight on his show prior to the Davis situation. That changed things and no longer was best decision to release tonight and create a fire storm.

Crean and IU will NEVER say it is for failed drug tests. Their suspension will be related to some circumstances from this summer. They will never confirm those reports.
