can somebody please x/o the ozone?
I hear so much talk about it, but never...I mean ever hear IU fans discuss the ozone...

I mean...it's time we Hoosiers get up with the uptick of all things defensive...
why the hell is there no discussion of this ozone, and it's breakdown?

Does the ozone even exist? I've never seen it.

1. Cut turnovers-win games

2. Get rebounds-win games

3. Create space-win games

4. Trust your teammates- win games

5. Poise and conditioning-win games

Chemistry on this team will be the difference. While having so many Freshmen is definitely a hindrance, in some instances it's almost better. To them, there's no reason why going in to places like Ann Arbor and East Lansing and coming out with a win isn't a daunting task. Ignorance is bliss sometimes.

Crean needs to adjust to his team's strengths and manage the game. His sub patterns get us out of grooves and drive me nuts. I'm worried that because we have so many options, he will tinker a lot. Find your core guys and trust them. Don't make defense any more complicated than it is by constantly switching from man to zone. Most of all, Crean needs to let all of them know that no game is feet up taking a break. You can lose to anyone, home or away, in this league on any given night. I've defended Crean a lot, but he has to prove he's the coach I think he is this year. He has the talent.

If there is one thing about Crean that bothers me to no end and something I believe he must change for us to have a successful season, it is this. No more sub patterns with no scoring options on the floor, taking out the hot hand, etc. I firmly believe it messes with the flow of the game and doesn't allow players to get comfortable out there, resulting in certain players trying to do too much to prove their worth. To me, this is a very fixable problem and something I believe Crean will be better at this year (hopefully).

Other than that, like others have mentioned, a 3 guard lineup with constant driving and kickouts to open shooters on the wings. Shooting this year will be our biggest asset and we need to utilize it as much as possible.
