ccgeneral Posted October 15, 2014 Posted October 15, 2014 Welcome aboard! CTM going to work! #2 for this class. Indiana women’s basketball coach Teri Moren picked up her second commitment for the 2015 class this week, taking a verbal from Texas forward Danielle Williams. Williams, a 6-foot-4 center from North Crowley High School in Fort Worth, Texas, was one of six Class 5A all-district selections made by the Dallas Morning News as a junior. There’s not a whole lot out there on Williams, who was ranked as a three-star recruit by ESPN’s HoopGurlz, but we have calls in to both her high school and AAU coaches. Williams joins Kym Royster, a 6-foot-2 Ohio forward, in IU’s 2015 class. http://scoop.hoosiershq.com/2014/10/danielle-williams-is-indianas-2nd-womens-commit-for-2015-iuwbb/ https://prospectsnation.com/player/danielle-williams-0 HoosierReb01, mamasa, LockdownD and 2 others 5 Quote

JSHoosier Posted October 15, 2014 Posted October 15, 2014 Good to see us getting some size, we were thin up front. Hopefully we can build off what Miller started. ccgeneral and mamasa 2 Quote
ccgeneral Posted October 17, 2014 Author Posted October 17, 2014 http://scoop.hoosiershq.com/2014/10/more-on-iu-womens-commit-danielle-williams-and-her-lead-recruiter-iuwbb/ “She comes from a great family and she’s really in love with Indiana from when she came for an official visit,” Williams’ Texas Express AAU coach Daniel Brooks said. “She really raved about the campus, the environment there and the connections she had with the other players and coaches. She’s gonna be a great asset for Indiana and just a kid that can really bring a presence to that conference.” Brooks called Williams a nightmare on the defensive end, who averaged around 12 points, nine rebounds and five blocks during AAU play. She’s a fine shot blocker, who can rebound and score underneath the basket. Brooks said she’ll need to work on her post moves as she transitions to the Big Ten. “Sometimes when she’s fed the ball she just kind of wants to think about what she wants to do instead of going and just making that move,” Brooks said. “Sometimes she wants to see what the defense is giving her instead of taking what she wants. She’s made tremendous strides on her low post footwork, spacing and just getting in post position.” One of the selling points for Williams was playing time. New IU coach Teri Moren and her staff have done a good job at filling the upcoming class with size — and replacing the post that left. Quote
