Troy and I when he was 5. Troy and I now!!

Recommended Posts

I don't have a problem with Dakich calling our games.  He calls it like he sees it and that's what he's paid to do, he's been hard on other teams as well.  Some just don't like hearing Crean/the program be criticized, even when it's warranted (like last season).

ya i think sometimes he just tries to be so unbiased towards IU he goes overboard

@hothoosiermom5- are you going to the Maui classic next year? My wife and I have been saving for it since it was announced! Unfortunately, that is the only game we will get to see in the near future. No basketball games is the only negative to living in Alaska. Hawaii is actually closer and cheaper to fly to than if we were to fly back down to the Lower 48. If you are there, i'll have to buy you one of those foofy drinks with an umbrella to say, "thanks" for all the inside info and motivation you have given us.

Depends on if Troy is playing in the NBA or not? :)

Mine was too kinda....

That is the catch 22 nowadays. You want players to have incredible success but you don't want them bolting early without on the court success.

I knew VO was gone, but I thought/hoped we'd get an extra yeah out of Zeller and to a lesser extent, Vonleh.

To be honest it's his decision but I know before anything we will have a family meeting. We are a very close family. They have been helping me with Troy all his life since that no good SOB, (forgive my language) left us when Troy was 8 days old. For selfish reasonings I do want Troy to play in the NBA, just to show that idiot what and who he left to fend on their own. But by the grace of Jesus and family, we made it. Now whose looking down on who!!?!! Oh what a sweet blessing that would be. And don't even start me on Child Support, well you didn't start it, I did. In 19 years I think we got something like $250. And now I'm going to let that be before my pressure starts to rise. Take care!!

Mute Dan Doucher Dakich and crank up Donny Fischer. That's the ultimate watching experience unless you're in the hall, of course.

I guess I'm in the minority...but I actually like Dan's perspective of IU athletics...

he doesn't sugar coat all things IU...but at the same time...I don't think he disrespects IU...

I don't know, he has a special place in my heart, and I like his take on most things...sports and non sports...

I agree here too. He is just more brutal towards IU's faults than most analysts are with ANY team. Seems unfair on a national broadcast, but in general, he is correct about his assessments.

I will say this...I think he has some kind of vendetta against Crean...

but as a media figure head...he keeps all of that in check...as a professional...

but given that his own kid attends Michigan, and he being an IU grad, all the while having a radio show in the heart of Indiana...

I think he balances all of that out pretty well.

I like Dan---but he comes across as a little jealous that he didn't get to keep the IU head coaching job.

I think he likes Crean----but he takes a few shots because he thinks it should be him at the helm.

I will say most of his criticisms are true---it's just the way he communicates them that is irritating.

He's an IU guy---so I am a fan-----but no way I would have let my son go to Michigan.
