Sports Illustrated Ranks Nation's Best Guards

How true is that though? I have heard he sat out to protect his draft stock but where did that come from?

Btw, if he was hurt and we were out of contention for anything why would he play and risk further injury?

@robjohnson4_: #CookWork before we make these power moves

I don't even care what "power moves" you'll be making. You earned them putting in work at 9:00 on a Saturday.

I think he meant "Night Moves"

Love the work the guards and all the boys are putting in!

Cook is one of the best things to happen at IU!  At first I thought it was great from primarily a recruiting perspective---but now I realize how important it is for player development and how the coaches can check the card swipe histories to see just who is putting in extra work!

Hard work can become contagious!

Hard work breeds success!

Vonleh still remains a mystery to me. He showed flashes of Zeller in being basically unstoppable in the paint. Then other games he would get 4 or 5 touches down low. Some of the blame goes to the coaching staff. We have always struggled to play through our bigs. Part of the blame goes to his stupid fouls that landed him on the bench three minutes in to a game. Honestly, he was a great player but I feel as if in five years people will struggle to even remember a single highlight from his IU career. I mostly blame our lousy game plans for that.

I agree.. and I can not for the life of me figure out how it was not a top 5 option game plan to have him at the 3 point line stroking it. Absolutely baffling. I'm not a guy who ever acts like I know more than the coaching staff but they screwed up big time there. Even if to open up the lane so Stan and Yogi can get jiggy with it.. lol, now I feel disgusted with it again..

I don't have an specific source I can quote but there were two or three legitimate sources at the time that reported that he was sitting out to protect his status. I mean it can be argued a million ways as to why would he even play if there was nothing to play for, but I think it just shows what kind of player and person someone is if they are worried about themselves or are truly at a school for the team and whatnot. Here lately I've really bought into the idea that last year's team really wasn't united in any sense of the way. I think there were a lot of egos and head cases on last years team, hence why they did't play well as a team and didn't do well overall. It seems that so far it has changed so far, and I think it will be WAY different this year.

This... there were factions on this team big time. The freshmen were idiots. Plain and simple.
