Ice Bucket Challenge!?!?

Recommended Posts

Correct me if I'm wrong but by doing the challenge aren't you saying you'd rather do that then donate?

I'm not sure how it works so I'm just asking.

You can do both if you want.

That's my understanding. Why not just donate? Lol

Check out what Charlie Sheen did:

You can post your video on sites like the Colts have setup and they will donate for you. Not everyone has $$ to spend but athletes etc can do both & should. Me and the wife have agreed to donate an amount to ALS. But not 10g like Charlie Sheen that is why we took the challenge. I understand what you are saying but I just wanted to bring some fun to BTB & people can donate what they wish.

Sorry Dalton I meant to quote you before. Please read my last post. I totally understand your question. It was first a punishment but now has gone viral.

I said "you" in my post but it wasn't directed at you so hopefully you didn't take it that way because I meant no harm by it.

I've just watched ppl on social media doing it and they all kept saying accept my challenge or donate so that's where my perception of it came from. I'm all for donating and getting the word out on charities.

Not even upset a little, this is all for a good cause. My wife has a childhood friend with ALS, hopefully eventually you all get called out it all is up to 41 now.

I thought calling out Jay Bob & Natty would be to obvious but maybe that is what I should have done to make this continue. 41 & the good Doc, where are you at?

I can't wait until this ice bucket fad is over. I fully support raising awareness for a disease, but I feel like people are only doing this to show off on social media. I got on Facebook tonight and literally every other post was somebody dumping water on themselves. I just think it's gotten silly.

[/quote] There are a couple articles written by family members of those with ALS about their thoughts on the challenge. You should check them out. It is silly, but the concept was created by an ALS victim, and it worked. The ALS Association has raised $31.5 million compared to $1.9 million in the same period. Silly as the challenge may be, it has been highly effective. And really, the important part is that it has gotten people who never would have donated to ALS, to donate. Who cares if it also rewards people's egos with "likes" in the process. Just keep sending in that money.
