taco corp Posted February 6, 2025 Posted February 6, 2025 IU leading 3-1, bottom of the 4th against FIU. Class of '66 Old Fart 1 Quote
taco corp Posted February 6, 2025 Posted February 6, 2025 Sorry I mis-typed previously. FIU scores 1 in the bottom of the 4th and ties the game at 2, heading to the 5th inning now. mamasa 1 Quote
Class of '66 Old Fart Posted February 6, 2025 Posted February 6, 2025 @taco corp we forgive you. We picked up 1 in our 5th and lead 3-2. mamasa 1 Quote
taco corp Posted February 7, 2025 Posted February 7, 2025 FIU with the walkoff 4-3 win. Couple bad defensive plays helped the winning run score. ALASKA HOOSIER, mamasa and Class of '66 Old Fart 3 Quote
Aaron Posted February 7, 2025 Posted February 7, 2025 I won't overreact to one loss especially in a sport like softball which has a lot more randomness. However, that is a terrible loss to a team that has been uncompetitive the last few seasons and well below .500. This team returns almost everyone from the back-to--back 40 wins seasons that saw NCAA Tourney appearances and should get there again. Can't make many judgements from one game but that is a ridiculously bad way to start the season for a very veteran squad with expectations. Hopefully this was a fluke. OliviaPope40 1 Quote

taco corp Posted February 7, 2025 Posted February 7, 2025 IU up 5-0 against Stony Brook, bottom of the 2nd. Much better offensively so far today, although the Stony Brook pitcher was making her first start ever, so that has helped. Quote

Class of '66 Old Fart Posted February 7, 2025 Posted February 7, 2025 10-0 final score in a run shortened game. We had 8 hits; Stone and Wilkison each with 2. Only 1 of the 8 was for extra bases. Hess and Reyes combined to hold Stony Brook to 6 hits and only walked 2 batters. We play 2 tomorrow. First one at 10 am vs Iowa State and then at 8:00 pm with opponent to be determined.
