Last week, the Terrapins were swept by No. 24 Minnesota in Minneapolis. Offensively, Maryland is led by Skylynne Ellazar who is batting .381 with 53 hits, 28 runs and 23 RBI. These two teams last met in Bloomington in April 2015. Maryland picks up wins in the opener and finale with Indiana earning an 11-8 victory in the second game of the series. Shannon Cawley had a huge weekend against the Terrapins a year ago as she hit .667 with nine RBI on 8 hits and two homers, including a grand slam in the Indiana win. In that victory, she registered a career-best six RBI. LAST TIME OUT Indiana closed out the home portion of the schedule with a three-game set against the Buckeyes over the weekend. Josie Wood earned a pair of wins in the series, tossing 10,0 innings and making appearances in all three games with a 3.50 ERA. CAWLEY COMING UP BIG Redshirt senior Cawley has been on a tear lately, Dating back to last Saturday's game against Rutgers, she is batting .563 with 9 hits - including 3 doubles and 2 homers, 5 runs and 7 RBI. Three of the five games in that stretch have been multi-hit efforts, including a 3-for-4 outing with a pair of runs in the first game of the series with Ohio State. HOOSIERS FINDING THE LONG BALL In the last five games, Indiana has knocked five homers to bring the season total to 21. Junior CaraMia Tsirigos is leading the way with six, including two in the last four games. She hit a three-run shot to tie up the game on Friday, setting the stage for Cawley's walk-off double. Huber's grand slam on Sunday was the second of the year for Indiana. Tsirigos knocked one against No. 3 Auburn on March 4 and senior Kelsey Dotson hit one against Evansville on March 12. SINGLE-SEASON MARKS • Freshman Tara Trainer's 172 strikeouts are good for 10th-most in a single season and the most ever for an Indiana freshman.
