Hoosiers looking for the series sweep with an 8-0 lead after 2 complete. I'm a jinx. Rutger scored 4 in its 3rd, 3 in its 4th and 3 more in its 5th. We're now tied at 10-10 after 5 complete. It's batting practice Sunday as Rutger has a dozen hits; we have 10. mamasa 1 Quote

We blew an 8-0 lead! That hurts! 4 IU pitchers torched for 15 hits that included 4 HR. We had 13 hits of our own that also included 4 HR but obviously it wasn't enough. Alex Cooper had 3 hits and 3 others with 2 each. Strader today's RBI leader with 3. Wednesday we'll host IU Indy at 5:00. Next weekend we'll be at Maryland. OliviaPope40 1 Quote

Class of '66 Old Fart Posted Friday at 09:55 PM Posted Friday at 09:55 PM The IU women are pretty good. They spotted Maryland 4 runs and trailed 4-0 after 4 complete. Scored 4 of our own in the 5th to tie it up. Both teams scored a run in the 6th and then we added 3 in our 7th to win the series opener 8-5. In the 7th, Alex Cooper had a solo HR and Madalyn Strader had a 2-run shot. Hess started and was relieved in the 4th by Mannon who finished the game. They limited the Terps to 6 hits and walked just 2 batters. We only had 7 hits of our own but 3 went the distance. In the 5th, Alli Gavin had a 2-run shot. Class of '66 Old Fart Posted Saturday at 09:38 PM Posted Saturday at 09:38 PM Hoosiers take game 2 of the series 10-2 in a run-shortened game. Kinda odd in that we scored 10 runs and only had 6 hits. But Alex Cooper had a grand slam, Madalyn Strader a solo shot and Avery Parker a 2-RBI triple. Ella Troutt started and pitched 4 scoreless innings but got in trouble in the 5th and Aubree Hooks came on and closed it out. Collectively they only allowed 5 hits and 1 BB. Go for the series sweep tomorrow at noon. LockdownD and OliviaPope40 2 Quote

For a long time their coach use to be the coach who is now coaching at Texas. Quote

Aaron Posted yesterday at 02:19 PM Posted yesterday at 02:19 PM Shonda Stanton ball at finest and I mean that as compliment. Elite power and offense, mediocre pitching, atmosphere of joy in dugout. it sometimes mean giving up an absurd number of runs against an elite team, but always gives them a chance and a great record overall and playing in a Regional yearly. She has built an amazing culture that puts the team in a place they have not been in 40 years. We are lucky to have her and some of our other sports need to take note of what building a system and culture means. IUHoosierJoe 1 Quote

OliviaPope40 Posted yesterday at 09:34 PM Author Posted yesterday at 09:34 PM What I don't get is how the game last night is considered out of conference unless I missed something when UCLA and Oregon joined. Quote
