Phegley started his 2nd game tonight @ catcher for the Sox and batted 7th. He went 0-3 with 1K. I believe he is our only guy left playing this year. Lets get the bat going!

glad to see a hoosier is making a name for himself in the bigs.  johnson will likely be on the other end of some of phegley's sb throw-out attempts next year, and I imagine schwarber gets his shot in the opposite side of chi-town in spring training 2016.  if travis and dickerson keep hitting well they'll eventually be up too, the latter as soon as next year.

 

everybody points to coach smith, schwarber and travis, maybe demuth and denato too, as the ambassadors of this golden age of IU baseball.  if phegley was part of smith's recruiting pitch to schwarber -- surely it was, "I just coached an all-american catcher here" -- then people need to start directing some of that praise at phegley.  no all-american phegley, maybe no schwarber.

2-4 with an RBI double today in the White Sox season final. In 11 games he was 8-37 with 3 HRs and 7 RBIs. See y'all next year.

The revamping Oakland Athletics made yet another trade of a star player this offseason, sending catcher Derek Norris and minor-league right-hander Seth Streich to the San Diego Padres on Thursday night for righties Jesse Hahn and R.J. Alvarez along with an international signing bonus slot.
