Been hearing this has been going on with Vonleh
For what it's worth, I've heard the same from multiple sources. Recruits aren't dumb. They check referrals from other players. Let's just say CTC isn't getting the best reviews this year.
Just an FYI- I've confirmed this is the infamous ChronicHoosier from the Twitterverse

Honestly it is one of those I don't care if it is true or not.  Anymore all that is focused on the negative.  I am not saying whether or not I like Crean, because that is not the issue here.  This is like anything in life that everyone here deals with.  You will have some people like you and some that don't.  If Noah does really do this, Crean can point to what people said about Noah coming in and then point to his potential top 5 status in a loaded draft.  Of all of the high end recruits this year Noah was voted #1 by ESPN before the year to be a potential bust.  He was too raw and too small.  He is still raw but showed enough to up his status.  Also, he put on 20 lbs last summer.  On top of that if he blasts Crean, he could also point to every player singing his praises playing professional basketball somewhere.  I mean look at the supposed greatest recruiting class of all time to the south.  Do you think every prior burger boy is singing the praises of Calipari?  You had 3 to 4 kids who were thought of as locks to be top 10 picks in this draft before this year.  Now you have 1.  Do you think the Harrison twins are going to sing the praises of Calipari in private?  Probably not.

agreed and this is where I was going with my earlier post.  Negative recruiting happens everywhere.  Why are we shocked to hear it.  We hope that it is not true but it probably happens more than we know.

@CONORPATRICKS: “Noah Vonleh apparently has some not-so-great things to say about IU to recruits, a source says (VIP): http://t.co/NPK8HQMzfY #iubb” Wow

Terrific, sure it happens to a lot of schools, don't see why you feel the need to keep posting all of this stuff. Though I have my own suspicions given the general theme of all your posts.

Negative recruiting happens all of the time with opposing coaches. I can't think of another occassion where a player is a lottery pick and actively recruits AGAINST his own university.

Maybe you think that is common stuff but I have never heard of such a thing. It's blowing up on twitter and on 247, it's post worthy,

Just because you specifically haven't heard of it happening that doesn't mean it doesn't happen. Also, it blowing up on twitter probably doesn't even mean much, that is just social media being social media. You again are just looking at it from a certain angle to try and support your general theme of your posts, it is getting beyond obnoxious.

Whoopdy freaking doo. 247 is a joke of a site.

"It's a very tough decision especially potentially leaving behind my coach and the program that really helped me out this year, so I really have to keep them in consideration in this whole process," Jabari Parker said Friday.

We get Vonleh with no appreciation plus the negative recruiting and Duke gets this respectful young man. Of course.

There aren't many Jabari Parker's in the world. In any "profession".

Wonder why Noah would have been sour on the program to dissuade Goodluck from coming. Noah had not been here long to have been able to have inch of an opinion

If true, NV is sounding more and more like one of those "entitled" one and done'rs...

Is Doc still around or did she get fed up with all the trash talk?

I never heard or saw a quote during the season where Noah was disappointed in only getting a measly 5 shots per game or how he was used. Only after the season did this come out. It makes me wonder what the discussions were like between Noah and Crean when he was told the news? At least a potted plant was not thrown but it was probably not amicable. Crean has no replacement so you know he was vacuum selling and Noah wasn't buying. At any rate their relationship seems strained at best; not unlike many others from this years team.

2 ways this thread turns out.

1. Thompson doesn't choose IU.. "it must have been true!" (even though there is no way of proving that is a reason he didn't come to IU)

2. Thompson chooses IU.. (silence) ... on to the next negative post starting with "if this is true".

Those are not mutually exclusive at all. Thompson could chose IU despite negative recruiting. Thompson may see Vonleh go in lottery and say "hey dude, IU set you up pretty damn nice".
