2014 Indiana High School Jr/Sr All Star Game

Recommended Posts

The 2014 Indiana High School Jr/Sr all star games have been announced. The games will take place on June 9 in Logansport, IN and on June 11th in Columbus, IN at Columbus North High School. The girls game will take place first with the boys game to follow. Maura Muensterman will play for the girls team alongside Miss Basketball Whitney Jennings. The senior boys team has yet to be announced but I am assuming JBJ will be on it. Seniors.

The 6-10 Lyles (23.7 points, 12.9 rebounds) and Jeremie Tyler aren't the only pair of teammates to make the team. Bryant McIntosh (Northwestern, 14.3 ppg) and Sean Sellers (Ball State, 20.7 ppg) were also selected after leading Greensburg to back-to-back Class 3A state championships.

Park Tudor standout Trevon Bluiett and Marion guard James Blackmon Jr., who were Nos. 2 and 3 respectively behind Lyles in the Mr. Basketball race, also headline the All-Star team, which will play the Kentucky All-Stars on June 13 in Lexington, Ky., and the following night at Bankers Life Fieldhouse.

Others local players named to the team were Purdue recruit P.J. Thompson (23.6 ppg) of Brebeuf Jesuit and Vermont recruit Zach McRoberts (14.1 ppg), who helped Carmel to back-to-back Class 4A state titles in 2012 and '13.

Rounding out the team are: Butler recruit Tyler Wideman (15.7 ppg), who helped Lake Central to the 4A state finals; Wapahani guard Grant Evans (25.5 ppg), a Wright State recruit; Kokomo guard Tayler Persons (18.2 ppg), a Northern Kentucky recruit; Fort Wayne Concordia forward D.J. McCall (18.5 ppg), an IUPUI recruit; and Plymouth forward Mack Mercer (17.1 ppg), a Belmont signee.

I think everyone should get familiar with the name "Jordan Geist." He's in my class at my high school and the kid is an unrelenting defender, ridiculous athlete, and dependable scorer (as evidenced by his 17 and 19 points in the Jr. Games). He's not been recruited heavily at all, but I expect that to change after this weekend.
I love the names of the high school mascots. They usually reveil something unique about their community.
We also have the oldest mascot in the state of indiana which is odly enough Felix the cat but there's a unique story behind that.
