Can't cut and paste into this forum so do a search for 87.7 the Game...

He was asked about NVL, the transfers and the future.

Tom Crean: IU hoops 'going to be just fine'

Tom Crean joins the guys to talk about his recruits for next season, the balance it takes to have a successful team in the Big Ten, the current relationship between the NCAA and the NBA and more."

Can someone give us a rundown and important quotes?

I kind of listened. Lets see... He talked about becoming a better passing team next year. Talked about the sharp shooters coming in next year. Said Noah has almost 50% of his credits to graduate after only one year. Talked about him going pro and the one and done situation. Talked about long term program development. Like 5,10,15 years down the road. They ended with the obligatory Harbaugh talk. Sorry I can't do better on that. I started listening then kind of droned it out.

"The two most important positions in the college game are the point and the 4."

"If you want guys to be successful, you have to let them go and be successful if they don't feel they were getting their dues. And we gave (Jeremy and Austin" their time to play and show their stuff."

A few that stuck out

Yeah, nothing really revealing. Said everything will be fine with the players coming in, returning players like Yogi, Stan and Troy and if we get a couple of "warriors" in the paint. On the departing players, he basically said that you give players opportunity and it's up to them to develop. He felt the players were given the opportunity. Lots of talk about the one and done rule and the Harbaughs. Overall, just a meh interview and basically what you would expect Crean to say.

For the conspiracy-minded, the only returning players mentioned were Yogi, Stan and Troy. No mention of Hanner or Davis as possible "warriors" in the paint.

If the culture he has created is as detrimental as it sounds, if I were Glass I would think about letting Crean go after next year if there isn't improvement on the court and in the locker room. If we are going to make a move in the relatively new future (next ~4 years IMO) better to do so sooner while the job is still appealing.

No, this isn't a crazy fire Crean!!! Post.. This is realizing a situation and correcting it. The longer we let a bad atmosphere around the team fester and poor performances in games, the worse the program becomes

I'm left wondering how Noah is halfway to graduating in one year. Did his high school have a bunch of college credit classes? Even then, there's now way. Unless I'm completely missing something.

Not too surprising if you figure he had all last summer, fall, spring, and maybe some credits from high school. 60ish credits is about halfway to a degree so you figure 18ish per summer, fall, spring terms plus a few from high school that's not too far fetched.

Heck, depending on what degree he was after he could've taken CLEP exams and cut out a large chunk of his studies. Who knows?

That's a big course load for any athlete. I struggle with 15 per semester lol. Most of them aren't exactly in astro-physics either, though.

He was in either broadcasting or sports management. Can't remember for sure.
