New Uniforms

TOTAL SWAG WITH THE STRIPES AND KEWL FONT.

For the playoffs I'm thinking Neon Crimson!

All of your millennial references were pretty good!

I'm just pumped for when we switch to Nike for all sports and flip to Jordan for men's and women's basketball. Hopefully they can get it done next year.

For those wondering, I've heard this from multiple people, some of which I get some good info from in the past. Believe IU has been approached and is actively tooling in to it.
Does anyone have any actual evidence that recruits don't like our uniforms and would like us to at least have an alternate? Anyone?

Why don't we just get rid of the candy stripes to? Maybe we can put names on the back of these uniforms? Oh, and we could retire numbers?

Mike Davis would laugh because new uniforms and all the other things were stuff that he wanted. Then, he never did get that It's Indiana.
I knew I would eventually agree with you. Very well said

I will have to see it to believe it, if Adidas goes things will definitely change. Adidas give IU a couple million a year, so who knows.

Switching to Nike would be awesome, and I'm sure some players would prefer to see that happen.

I'm all for New Uniforms, honestly! Given the recruits today want to play in stuff that's new and looks modern. If you're being told you're the greatest thing since sliced bread and you're from, let's say Virginia. The tradition of the uniform probably won't mean much to you. I know it means a ton to all of us, the tradition that is. Maybe, having newer jerseys as an alternate would help attract higher end recruits. Look at Oregon, they're in a lot of considerations.. And why? Because look at all of the new, modern things the recruits receive if they go there.

Pritch, here's the problem. In 10-15 years, any "modern" update we do is going to look so hilariously stupid. Look at some of the worst basketball uniforms throughout history...those "updated" Sixers uniforms from 1991 were cutting edge at the time, but thinking back on it it wasn't such a great idea.

Now look at a team like the Boston Celtics. Still relatively unchanged since the days of Bird. Simple, classic...keyword: TIMELESS. I'm all for an alternate uniform to wear maybe on occasion (someone mentioned the script font like on the back of our warm-ups, that would be awesome), but please, make it tasteful and not an every-game thing.

On a final note, if kids coming in can't respect tradition then they should play somewhere else, I don't care how great they are, they don't belong at Indiana.

This confirms that Brandon Triche was at Syracuse WAY too long. B)

I'm surprised more teams don't have shorts a little higher than the knee (but not THAT high). It allows for a greater range of movement and you don't have to worry about catching them on anything. I was always afraid that was going to happen, especially with UNC's "almost-pants" shorts in the late 90's. The baggy pants thing was getting ridiculous....thank the Fab Five for that.
