So ready for the game. Made a bet with the cousin-in-laws lol. They are big Illini fans. Since IU lost the first game, I have to wear an Illini t-shirt. If IU wins this one, they have to wear IU shirts as well. If IU loses, they get to dress me in anything IU.

You would understand if you lived here. Illinois fans are ALWAYS talking. It's easy to shut them up, but they are relentless. One of the most dilusional fan bases I've ever seen.

Haha I'm both of those, but it isn't even close. Cubs fans realize we suck, and we just hope every season. You'd be hard pressed to find 2 Bears fans that agree on anything, so they're way different. Illinois fans, though...I'll try to explain. Every year coming in I hear about these unbelievable recruits they have coming in that will destroy the B1G and especially IU. In that case I just yell (literally) "Like Eric Gordon?!?!?!" as loud as I can. After that, they bring up the Griffey shot last year. Then I remind them how great their season turned out. And then, I kid you not, they remind me about "Orange Crush with Dee Brown and James Augustine YEAH!!", in which case I yell, similarly to my Eric Gordon yell, "SEAN MAY!!!!". When that doesn't work, I get something along the lines of "this year we'll kill Indiana, though yeah!!!!". If I had to put a number on it, I'd say that's how 75% of my arguments go with UofI fans. It's a vicious, never ending cycle with that fanbase.

Hahahahahahaha that is awesome I can picture it. I've been in some heated arguments with Carolina fans esp one of my best friends who is a tar hole die hard our fights literally last for ours and usually end in us cussing each other out.

I'm in my 20's, so I get "How many were you alive for?!?!?!". Which makes absolutely no sense, considering we still have 5 and they STILL have none, but they just can't grasp that.

I'm ready to go.  I want to get the nasty taste of defeat out of my mouth.  It bugs me so much when IU loses that it is practically impossible for me to watch any college basketball at all until we win our next game, and I love college basketball.  I honestly haven't watched a game other than the MSU game since we lost to NW.  Thank God for the Pacers.

 

At this point I'm done worrying about what happens come March and I'm in "next game only" mode.  Let's get in done tomorrow and then go from there.
