Stony Brook (3-0) at No. 23/RV Indiana (3-0)
Date Sunday, Nov. 17
Time 5 p.m. ET
Location Bloomington, Ind. - Assembly Hall (17,472)
Television BTN (Steve Physioc and Shon Morris)
Radio IU Radio Network (Affiliates) | Sirius 135/XM 194

BLOOMINGTON — Perhaps to the chargin of IU fans, Sunday’s visit from Stony Brook probably stands as this season’s marquee non-conference home game.

But Tom Crean won’t be casting even a skeptical glance at the Seawolves.

“The people that I’ve talked to are starting to liken them to the next Gonzaga-, Butler-type of team,” Crean said. “It will be a very tough game. I mean, they score inside, they score outside, they defend and they’re very physical.”

The Seawolves (3-0) were picked, narrowly, to finish second behind Vermont in the America East Conference this season. They return four starters from last season’s 25-win NIT team. That team posted its league’s best regular-season league record.

Last season, Stony Brook tested Maryland (seven-point road loss) and Seton Hall (one-point road loss). Stony Brook, Crean said, will be more physical against Indiana’s young team than its three previous opponents.

“I think it’s going to be a major battle for us,” Crean said, “because they’re older, they’re experienced, they know how to play, they’ve won. They’ve got very good toughness.”

Looks like I'm not the only one worried about not seeing all of the game tonight due to weather.

We should all be prepared for this game to be more like LIU than Samford.  According to KenPom SB has a better ranking than Penn St., Northwestern, Evansville, and Washington (who we play Thursday night.)  In other words, it doesn't mean we suck if we don't win by 30.

On BTN right now, I just noticed it

Big Ten Elite: 1981 Indiana Basketball [TV-PG]

A look at the second of the three of Bob Knight's national championship teams at Indiana. Just two years prior Indiana hadn't even qualified for the NCAA Tournament but with the arrival of star point guard Isiah Thomas the Hoosiers were back among the Nation's elite.
