If the women are going to break their losing streak, this is the game to do it.  Northwestern (8-13 (2-8) and just 1-7 in road games.   The Wildcats average 66 ppg with a -7 margin shooting 42% FG and just 25% on 3s.  IUWBB 71 ppg shooting 47% FG and 38% on 3s.  NW 35 rpg vs IUWBB 32 rpg.  Probably a sloppy game as both teams average 15 turnovers/game.  They do move the ball well with 18 assists/game vs only 12 for IUWBB.  Grace Sullivan is their major scoring threat at 21.8 ppg.  2 others average just over 10 ppg.  Xamiya Walton is a 42% 3-point shooter followed by Casey Harter at 39%.  Tayla Davis averages 8.3 rpg followed by Sullivan at 6.7 and Caroline Lau at 6.3.  Lau has 185 assists on the season to just 85 turnovers so shutting her down would be very helpful.

Now, I'm seeing we still have five games left on the Plus. The big question: Do I renew for a month to watch what has thus far been some pretty bad basketball? 

I think it's $12.99 for a month, so that's about $2.50 a game. 

Decisions. Decisions. 

I'll probably go ahead and take the "plunge." LOL.

Decided to re-up with B1G+

As soon as I tune in, Shay picks up a foul.

Northwestern is terrible. Cancel the rest of the season if we can't win this one after this start.

Up huge -- 28-3 late in first quarter. 

Shay has 2 fouls. Why is she playing? 

Sit her until halftime.

We struggled early -- falling behind 3-0. 

Fortunately, we heated up -- and ended the quarter on a 30-0 run. 

This one's ugly -- but in a good way.

7 for 8 from floor; 1-1 from line -- 15 points midway through 2nd quarter.

As bad as we are, Northwestern is even worse. 

Maya is giving Beau and Shay a hand in this one.

We're up 23, so things are under control ... knock on wood. 

But Northwestern is now pressing, and it's giving us fits. 

Does CTM need to hire an assistant just to teach us how to attack a full-court defense??? 

Even during our heyday -- Berger, Mack, CMM, Scalia, Parrish, etc. -- we couldn't handle pressing teams.

Bad news: We had our usual third quarter swoon -- got outscored 26-20. 

Good news: It doesn't matter. We're up big. 

We should end up with three players topping 20 points: Shay, Beau and Maya. 

Shay did a nice job of avoiding further fouls after getting two very quickly. Might have gotten away with a push-off, however.

No bueno. 

Still plenty of time left.
