He might turn out to be great coach. But this hire is a huge gamble. Why pay $6 million for a buyout to a coach that has won one play in game when you have a proven winner in beard who would also be cheaper? Not to mention beard has been practically begging for the job. He will be at Kansas or North Carolina now in the next 2 years now. Half of the coaches in the sweet 16 have previous scandals and guess what? Nobody cares!!! It’s all about winning and beard was the best coach available by a mile
I'm with you on Beard. I thought they should have done a thorough background check on him, had extensive face- to- face conversations and unless something new and alarming was unearthed (I think the university and some of the fans have just a touch of "holier than thou" in them) then hired him BUT... they didn't. The guy they did hire seems to have quite a few positives and a pretty good track record at lower levels. I'm gonna give him a chance just like I gave Woodson a chance. I'm getting to old to dwell on what might have beens.

Still dumbfounded that Maryland's player could walk from Ellettsville to Bloomington for a bankshot and the refs sat on their a$$es.

It definitely appeared to be a travel.  However the studio guys had their officiating expert on and he said since Queen bobbled the ball that his steps did not start until he had control of the ball and therefore he did not see a travel.

There was a time that moving your feet while bobbling the ball was traveling...
