Class of '66 Old Fart Posted February 25, 2025 Posted February 25, 2025 Really hope to see a nice bounce back win against MD before heading to West Laffy next Sunday for our regular season finale. Turtle Soup (21-6) (11-5) is 9-1 in away games so this is far from a pushover. They average 80 ppg with a +12 scoring margin and shoot 35% on 3s. They have a +9 average rebounding margin. 4 women average in double figures led by Kaylene Smikle at 17.7 ppg. She is also a 37% 3-point shooter. Shyanne Sellers shoots 43% but has only attempted 49 shots. Sarah Te-Biasu is their best volume 3-point shooter at 40%. Saylor Poffenbarger is their best rebounder at 8 per/gm. Second best is Christina Dalce at 7.7. They have 7 players who average over 20 min/gm with the most at 30.5 so they are going to constantly run players in and out of the game. By comparison, we have 4 that average 30+ min./gm. Radio Live Stats HoosierHoopster and FloridaHoosierGirl 2 Quote
TTT Posted February 27, 2025 Posted February 27, 2025 Not a surprise this is going to be a tough game. However, step 1 to a strong finish for season. IU Ladies are approximately a 1 point favorite. Then at P.U. is a trap game…IU Ladies have been very beatable throughout this year and as bad as P.U. is they will see this as confident chance to break a losing streak (and shoot at high %) vs IU Ladies……though IU Ladies obviously should win. Claxdj01 Posted February 28, 2025 Posted February 28, 2025 Started the game 6-0, started subbing and now a scoring drought and Maryland lead TTT 1 Quote
LamarCheeks Posted February 28, 2025 Posted February 28, 2025 Dang -- Cieski just went around and through four Twerps on a fast break. FloridaHoosierGirl 1 Quote
Class of '66 Old Fart Posted February 28, 2025 Author Posted February 28, 2025 Parrish with 2 early 1st Q fouls is a real killer for us. Quote
Claxdj01 Posted February 28, 2025 Posted February 28, 2025 (edited) Hopefully striplin can stay out of foul trouble. Meister has regressed with every game. I feel like Bargessar and lemondola have regressed from last season too had high hopes for them Edited February 28, 2025 by Claxdj01 Quote
OliviaPope40 Posted February 28, 2025 Posted February 28, 2025 (edited) That's 2 on Garazon can't have both her and Parrish in foul trouble. Edited February 28, 2025 by OliviaPope40 FloridaHoosierGirl 1 Quote
Class of '66 Old Fart Posted February 28, 2025 Author Posted February 28, 2025 The officials apparently didn't get the memo the game is in our house. 5 fouls on us - 2 on Yarden and 2 on Sydney. Only 1 foul on MD. FloridaHoosierGirl 1 Quote
FloridaHoosierGirl Posted February 28, 2025 Posted February 28, 2025 Not a good few minutes there. Come on ladies! Quote
JerryYeagley23 Posted February 28, 2025 Posted February 28, 2025 Without both Syd and Garzon on the floor we lack scorers. Hopefully we can keep it close until halftime and both of them keep from getting a third so we can play full strength in the second half. OliviaPope40 and Chris007 2 Quote
LamarCheeks Posted February 28, 2025 Posted February 28, 2025 And just like that -- down by 10. Quote
Claxdj01 Posted February 28, 2025 Posted February 28, 2025 I’m sorry but #15 cannot be worse than lemondola Quote
TTT Posted February 28, 2025 Posted February 28, 2025 Pattern through season starters play even or have lead and early substitutions led by Meister for Striplin and things go downhill. Quote
JerryYeagley23 Posted February 28, 2025 Posted February 28, 2025 Meister not progressing at all this season really put us behind the eight ball. She’s barely serviceable and gives us no post presence which makes it hard to space the floor. One half to go. Moren will have them playing hard second half. Quote
TTT Posted February 28, 2025 Posted February 28, 2025 Teams really don’t hardly even have to guard Meister much anymore. No scoring threat at all. Quote

And they don’t with Bargessar either. Last year she was able to make some teams pay. This year it looks like she is afraid to do much of anything. #15 has had some mop up minutes and made some threes, been to games watched some warmups her shot looks pure and she has a good build, not sure why she literally never gets no chance at a real minute when lemendola and meister get them. TTT Posted February 28, 2025 Posted February 28, 2025 IU Ladies need to shoot 3 ball and not hesitate in half 2 and play defense and hope for the best. (Maryland could win by 20 plus) Quote
LamarCheeks Posted February 28, 2025 Posted February 28, 2025 I wouldn't advise leaving Garzon open like that!!!! FloridaHoosierGirl 1 Quote
FloridaHoosierGirl Posted February 28, 2025 Posted February 28, 2025 Well, that turned around quickly. Hope they can keep it up! Quote
