LamarCheeks Posted December 21, 2024 Posted December 21, 2024 After a week off, we have our last noncon tilt before diving deep into the B1G season. Oakland (4-6) played the two Michigan B1G teams and got thwacked pretty good -- 102-47 to Sparty and 88-42 to the maize and blue. They're not what you'd consider an offensive juggernaut -- averaging just 61 points a game and getting outcored by 9 a game. Hoosiers (8-3) have won four in a row and are coming off a 34-point win over Bellarmine. If you can read between the lines, this should be an easy win. @Class of '66 Old Fart is out of pocket for a while, and wanted to ensure women's game threads were taken care of in his absence, so to quote Jackie Gleason -- "And away we go ..." Radio Live stats BTW -- if you're planning to attend the game and have a spare teddy bear (or can pick one up), take it to SSAH and toss it onto the court at halftime. They'll be collected and distributed to local kids in need. Class of '66 Old Fart and mamasa 1 1 Quote
LamarCheeks Posted December 22, 2024 Author Posted December 22, 2024 Looks as if Syd might play a little tomorrow ... https://www.thedailyhoosier.com/iu-womens-basketballs-lenee-beaumont-out-for-the-year-sydney-parrish-nearing-return/ Stuhoo and mamasa 2 Quote
LamarCheeks Posted December 22, 2024 Author Posted December 22, 2024 Syd warming up again. I wouldn't be surprised if she plays a bit today. Seems to me if she can go, it would make sense to get her a few minutes so she can get her feet wet again before the B1G season kicks in high gear. WayneFleekHoosier 1 Quote
LamarCheeks Posted December 22, 2024 Author Posted December 22, 2024 OK, well -- Syd is not only gonna play, she's in the first 5. Welcome back ... mamasa 1 Quote
LamarCheeks Posted December 22, 2024 Author Posted December 22, 2024 Hoosiers up 17-14 after 10 minutes. mamasa 1 Quote

LamarCheeks Posted December 22, 2024 Author Posted December 22, 2024 IU up 35-27 at the break. Hope we break it open in the last 20 minutes -- because we're way too good to be beating Oakland by only 8 points. mamasa 1 Quote
LamarCheeks Posted December 22, 2024 Author Posted December 22, 2024 65-40 after 30 minutes. A little breathing room. The transfers leading the way ... Ciezki: 17 points Striplin: 12 points Nobody else in double figures. Quote
TheWatShot Posted December 22, 2024 Posted December 22, 2024 What would need to happen for Striplin to start over Meister? We need better starts to games when we start playing Big Ten teams. LamarCheeks 1 Quote
coonhounds Posted December 22, 2024 Posted December 22, 2024 Another electronic problem with the system at assembly. This has been a recurring problem seems like.Sent from my SM-A326U using Tapatalk Quote
TheWatShot Posted December 22, 2024 Posted December 22, 2024 90-55 is the final. Wisconsin at home Saturday afternoon. They're actually getting votes in the coaches' poll. Doesn't look like their schedule has been too difficult, but they did beat Butler. Quote
LamarCheeks Posted December 22, 2024 Author Posted December 22, 2024 Ciezki: 20 points Striplin: 16 points and in her triumphant return ... Parrish: 11 points That's it for nonconference this season. It's all B1G from here out -- starting with Wisky on Saturday, then the biggie: No. 1 UCLA the following Saturday (Jan. 4). Both those are in SSAH. Hoosierfan1901 and HoosierHoopster 2 Quote
