Per The Daily Hoosier:

”This year, the skill competitions are gone, and the men’s and women’s teams won’t share the court. The IU women’s team will start Hoosier Hysteria with team introductions, a message to the crowd from Moren, and then two quarters of an intrasquad scrimmage. The men’s team will do the same thing after the women’s scrimmage is done — introductions, head coach Mike Woodson addressing the crowd, and then a half-long scrimmage.

“We are excited to rollout this new format of Hoosier Hysteria,” IU head men’s basketball coach Mike Woodson said in the press release. “Getting our team in front of Hoosier Nation has always been a priority for this ballclub. The scrimmage will be the first chance for our fans to get a look at our new players and most importantly will give our guys a taste of playing competitive basketball in front of the most passionate fans in the game.”

As an old guy, I'd prefer just a scrimmage without the other skills competition plus light show, etc.  Read that the cost last year was around $250K for HH.

How much did Gucci Mane get? Doesn’t sound like they are continuing that trend of G Herbo, Gucci Mane.

Woody could save us some cash and have Mike Epps and Chris Tucker do 15 minute standup sets. That’d be fun.

What was the push for the change?  I think the kids loved it.  I honestly don't think it was as much for the fans as it was for the recruits and the current players to have a coming out party so to speak (may be a bad choice of words here).

Interesting to see.

At the end of the article it mentions purchasing through Hoosiers Connect NIL fund, so I would assume that it's a paid event with funds being split between the players through the collective.

Yes I see it is a pay event for the meet and greet. Just trying to find pricing and opportunity to buy
