Took 9 innings but the ladies got the W with a 5-4 win.  We ended up with just 5 hits on the day but 3 were HRs and that's all that matters.   Friday evening at 6:00 we'll play Minnesota in the first semifinal game.

Thank god they brought in Lisa Byington today to do play-by-play after yesterday's debacle. They bring in a big name and the difference in the announcer quality from today to yesterday is a complete 180.

MACKENZIE MGBAKO COMMITS TO IU!

Oh, and the women won their softball game 5-3 over Minnesota and will play the winner of No. 1 seed Northwestern and No. 4 seed Nebraska tomorrow at 3 PM CT/ 4PM ET.

Copeland started and pitched into the 4th giving up all 3 Minny runs on 4 hits and 4 BB.  Johnson relieved her and pitched no-hit ball over the final 3.2 innings.  We had a total of 8 hits.  Minnick our only batter with multiple hits, but her 2-run HR in the 1st inning was a big kickstart.

Northwestern in the final tomorrow. They just run-ruled Nebraska. Not liking our chances but at least we have a tourney bid secured.

4:00 ET IU vs Northwestern in the Championship game.  Weather should not be a problem.

Hoosiers lead 1-0 after 3.

Teams were scoreless through 2 innings.  In the 3rd, a NW error, a bloop single and a sac. bunt put runners on 2nd and 3rd with 1 out.  An attempted squeeze bunt resulted in a rundown of Kettlemen who was on 3rd.  Initial call was she eluded the tag and she went on to score.  Umpires reviewed the play and upheld the home plate umpire's call.

Top of the 6th and Hoosiers still  lead 1-0.  Copeland has only give up 1 hit.

As a catcher you have to have that well blocked and I knew that Northwestern was going to win. Will be interested in seeing where we end up tonight if we make it in don't know why we wouldn't.
