Another 1,2,3 inning for Seiler in the NU 6th.  Tibbitts led off the 7th with a double and advanced to 3rd on a ground out.  Pyne and Colopy drew walks to load the bases. A wild pitch and a Serruto sac fly scored 2 more runs to make it 11-6 at the 7th inning stretch.

Every time we score, they answer. Just one of those weekends, I guess.

Women sweep MSU and the men sweep NU winning today's game 11-9. 

NU got a couple of singles in its 7th and had runners on the corners with 1 out.  A third single scored a run to make it 11-7 and another single loaded the bases with just 1 out and a sac fly made it 11-8.  A force out ended the 7th with no further damage.  

We went 3 up 3 down in our 8th.  Risedorph took over for Seiler and set the Wildcats down in order in their 8th.

We got a couple of walks in  the 9th but couldn't score.  A 2-out solo HR off Risedorph made it 11-9 and then a BB put the tying run at the plate but a force at 2nd ended the game.

We're on the road at Xavier on Wednesday.

Offense woke up which was badly needed. Last time the bats went into a funk it took just a high scoring 16-13 win over Ball State to get back on track at the plate and stay there until Maryland. Hopefully this game despite being a bit higher scoring then team would like starts another explosion at the dish. 

Bonus quad 1 game at Xavier Wednesday who is best midweek team IU has seen outside of Indiana St, Louisville, and Kentucky. A victory could all but secure a spot in the postseason and a loss will do no damage. 

I'll take 34-14 overall and 12-6 in the league any day after last season. What a nice turnaround even if games were a little closer than hoped. Bottom line is they did the job and avoided the land mine of defeat and dropping to the bubble.

Ryan Kraft is either leading or has to be in the Top 3 candidates for BIG Pitcher of the Year. 

He is a 1.52ERA in 29.1IP 

Truthfully, I don't see anyone that should be that close to him.
