PC Stellar Indiana v Arizona sims

PC Stellar computer game sims really like IU.  10 sims, IU won 8.  Average score was IU 82.9, Arizona 74.4.  Everything was basically even EXCEPT turnovers -- Arizona averaged five more turnoves than IU which lead to about 5 extra shots/game for IU. (I assumed a healthy JHS, but will know his status is up in the air).

Team stats:  IU:  333/691 from the field (48%), 58/154 from three (38%), 105/140 from the line (75%), 14.3 fouls/game, 38.0 rebounds, 20.5 assists, 12.6 turnovers, 5.2 blocks, 8 steals, 82.9 points.

                      Arizona:  295/645 from the field (46%), 64/170 from three (38%), 90/128 from the line (70%), 15.8 fouls/game, 38.3 rebounds, 18.6 assists, 17.3 turnovers, 3.9 blocks, 5.0 steals.

IU individual stats:

Jackson-Davis:  30 mpg, 56% shooting, 67% free throws, 12.1 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 1.9 blocks, 15.8 ppg

Johnson:  28 mpg, 47% shooting, 34% threes, 83% free throws, 4.5 reb, 5.7 assists, 2.8 turnovers, 11.8 ppg

JHS:  31 mpg, 43%shooting, 41% threes, 60% free throws, 4.3 reb, 4.7 assists, 2.6 turnovers, 11.7 ppg

Kopp:  25 mpg, 41% shooting, 33% threes, 75% free throws, 1.2 reb, 1.2 assist, 8.7 ppg

Bates:  14 mpg, 51% shooting, 48% threes, 94% ft, 0.9 reb, 1.3 ast, 8.5 ppg

Galloway:  20 mpg, 56% shooting, 35% three, 71% ft, 2.3 reb, 1.4 ast, 6.8 ppg

Reneaus:  17 mpg, 53% shooting, 44% ft, 4.8 reb, 1.5 ast, 1.7 turn, 6.8 ppg

Geronimo:  10 mpg, 55% shooting, 87% ft, 1.6 reb, 6.1 ppg

Thompson:  22 mpg, 39% shooting, 89% ft, 6.0 reb, 1.6 blocks, 6.0 ppg

Gunn:  played in 6 of the 10 games, 5.0 mpg, 38% shooting, 50% ft, 1.2 ppg

Arizona individual stats:

Tubelise:  28 mpg, 49% shooting, 36% threes, 90% ft, 7.7 reb, 2.3 ast, 15.3 ppg

Ramey: 34 mpg, 44% shooting, 43% threes, 67% ft, 4.6 reb, 4.0 ast, 14.1 ppg

Krilas:  33 mpg, 43% shootgin, 35% threes, 85% ft, 3.2 reb, 6.2 ast, 12.7 ppg

Ballo: 28 mpg, 52% shooting, 56% ft , 9.2 reb, 2.2 blocks, 12.5 ppg

Henderson:  17 mpg, 60% shootgin, 56% three, 33% ft, 1.8 reb, 1 ast, 7.4 ppg

I'd have to go back and look to be sure...I don't know.  I remember that they predicted when Purdue came to IU and no one gave IU a chance that the sim thought it was going to be very competitive....however, it certainly missed on both Rutgers games last year.

FWIW, I ran IU/Nebraska prior to the game but didn't post it as it didn't include the Creighton/Nebraska numbers.  IU averaged a 17 point win against Nebraska, 79-62 (that assumed JHS and Griesel were both playing).   IU won 9 of the 10 sims.

Xavier was up 4 with 11 seconds left and made the Cardinal sin of fouling a three point shooter....banks in the three.

Xavier going to the line with 1.4 seconds left.....call was a good one.  Two free throws in a time game.  Musketeers had been up 17 at half.

Hits the first free throw, Xavier up 1 with 1.4 seconds.  Timeout.

IMO, he should intentionally miss the second.  Cincinnati has to go the length of the court and is going to shoot a desperation shot anyway and has no timeouts.

Xavier shooter missed intentionally...Cinciny called time out but some confusion......scoreboard said Cincy didn't have any left but scorer said they did.  Looks like they will have the ball with 0.9 seconds.

Nevermind, Cincy did NOT have a time out.  Xavier hits two free throws.  Up 3.  Cincinnati ball out of bounds 0.9 seconds.
