Dang, that's six freshmen that will be on their roster next season. This puts them one over at 14 for next year, and that's if all three scholly players that are entitled to a COVID year decide to leave without using it. Class of '66 Old Fart 1 Quote

Loyer, Smith, Colvin aren't going anywhere. That's the bulk of the 1,2,3 minutes. Kaufman and Furst in the front court not likely to go anywhere. (furst was rumored-but his brother is there-not likely going anywhere) Starting spots are mostly spoken for. Then a 6 person class. It's nuts. Quote

It's nuts. It's a large roster with lots of chaff. Waddell, Berg, and about four of those freshman are not really projected to be contributors next year. A roster with Benter, Berg, Waddell, Cox, Jacobsen, and Burgess doesn't leave much room for error. Expect a couple of transfers, and lord help them if an Edey or Smith injury blows up their season this year. Quote

Without him they become normalized but they have good pieces. Smith, Loyer, Colvin, Furst, Kaufman are all pretty good players. Next year Edey will be gone wherever he decides to go. They will have a couple transfers I'd imagine because there simply isn't enough minutes. I think they will still be good next year without a doubt but I just can't see what the new guys see as far as an avenue for playing time. All the starting spots are likely spoken for with heavy minute guys. I guess they embrace the wait to play method Painter has had success with. It'll certainly be interesting to follow. Quote
go iu bb Posted November 16, 2023 Posted November 16, 2023 Edey has his COVID year if he wants to use it so there is a chance he could be at PU again. I don't see him as any more likely to get drafted after this season than last season. Quote

He decided to come back to college this year so his NIL money must be as good as our better than overseas professional money so there's a real possibility he'll be back next season.
