Minnesota is looking to pick up its first Big Ten win and its second overall this season on Wednesday afternoon. It previously dropped league games to Michigan State and Northwestern. They are led by sophomore guard Jasmine Powell (18.5 ppg., 5.3 rebounds, 7.0 apg.) and redshirt sophomore Kadiatou Sissoko (15.0 ppg., 7.0 rpg.). As a team, the Gophers are averaging 64.3 points per game and shooting 37.4 percent from the floor.

• Indiana is coming off an 81-45 win over Nebraska to open conference play on Sunday. They were led by a pair of double-doubles from junior forward Aleksa Gulbe and freshman forward Kiandra Browne. It marked the first time an IU duo has recorded double-doubles in the same game since Tyra Buss and Amanda Cahill did it against Illinois on Feb. 25, 2017.
• Four players average double figures behind sophomore forward Mackenzie Holmes.
• A staple of a Teri Moren team is defense and the Hoosiers are living up to that expectation this season. They are currently leading the Big Ten and 13th in the nation in scoring defense, allowing just 52.0 points per game through five games.
• The Hoosiers look to increase their win streak in the series with Minnesota on Wednesday, having won the last three meetings and six of the last seven overall dating back to 2016.  
• IU came in at No. 19 in this week's Associated Press Top 25 poll, its 24^th-straight week in the national poll.

Shooting improved to 45% FG and 33% on 3s.

Good question.  I missed Greg Murray's pre-game show if he commented on her.  She's had double digit minutes in 4 of our 5 games.

End of 3rd Q and we've stretched the lead to 55-40.

Points:  Holmes 15; Penn 14; Berger 13        Gulbe 7 reb.                     Shooting:  46%    40% on 3s

Good road win and finished strong after a sluggish 1st Q.    Final score 75 - 54.  Next game is 2:00 ET on the 31st at home against Illinois.  Greg Murray commented that the team is not going home for Christmas and will stay in Bloomington.         

Holmes 19 pts; 6 reb; 3 blks.

Penn 19 pts; 5 reb; 4 stls.   Hit 4-8 on 3s.

Berger 13 pts; 6 reb. and 5 assts.   Not a particularly good shooting night just 5-16.

Gulbe 11 pts and 8 reb.

For the game we shot 46% FG; 42% on 3s and 93% on FT.

Much much better.

Granted Minnesota is garbage and unlike the Men's Side, the bottom of the Big Ten is quite a bit worse than the top. With that said I liked a lot of things from today regardless of the opponent, as we shot the ball better and made the easy layups with had been an issue. 

7 of the first 8 games in the Big Ten are against the bottom feeders so we need to take care of business during this stretch. That said, 2 games from now we have a huge test @Maryland which will say a lot about whether we can win the conference.

She played late in the game when benches were emptied.
