Class of '66 Old Fart Posted December 28, 2019 Author Posted December 28, 2019 End of 1 and Sparty leads 22-21. Patberg 7 pts; Beger 6. IU with 7 ugly TOs in the quarter. mamasa 1 Quote
mamasa Posted December 28, 2019 Posted December 28, 2019 Not communicating wellSent from my iPhone using BtownBanners Quote
JSHoosier Posted December 28, 2019 Posted December 28, 2019 Not looking good. Too many turnovers, leaving shooters open, giving up offensive boards. Quote
Class of '66 Old Fart Posted December 28, 2019 Author Posted December 28, 2019 Wake'em up at halftime Coach Moren. Pretty weak performance and trail 37-31 at halftime. Berger 12 pts; Patberg 7; Holmes 6. Holmes & Patberg 3 reb. each. 11 TOs for the half and outrebounded 20-14. Shooting 50% FG but 0-4 on 3s. Patberg & Yeaney each with 2 fouls. MSU only shooting 39% but they've hit 6 3-pointers. C'mon girls, you can play better than this. mamasa 1 Quote
mamasa Posted December 29, 2019 Posted December 29, 2019 Penn seems off, not her normal pace. MSU killing us on the boardsSent from my iPhone using BtownBanners Class of '66 Old Fart 1 Quote
Aaron Posted December 29, 2019 Posted December 29, 2019 Two problems that half: Getting destroyed on boards including 9-2 on offensive end which has led to multiple second chance points for MSU. Also 6 Spartan threes to IU's none. Got to clean those two things up. Other issues crept in that half but those ones are the debilitating factors. BTW: Attendance with the $1 tickets is 6,020 which is a season high and beats last weeks UCLA crowd by 800 or so which was previous best. This is the ninth largest crowd in program history. UCLA last weekend was 15th. Quote
Aaron Posted December 29, 2019 Posted December 29, 2019 IU cleaned up the two things I said and had a huge quarter to take a 5 point lead. What a stretch by Holmes to close the quarter as she leads IU with 15. Quote
Class of '66 Old Fart Posted December 29, 2019 Author Posted December 29, 2019 End of 3 and we've taken a 54-49 lead. Holmes 15; Patberg 14; Berger 12 pts. Patberg 5 reb; Gulbe 4. Only 2 TOs in the quarter and we've done a better job on the boards. Need to stay focused and send MSU home with a loss. mamasa 1 Quote

JSHoosier Posted December 29, 2019 Posted December 29, 2019 Holmes could be a good piece when she's older, made some big plays for us tonight. I know it's Waggoner, but it's odd seeing a blonde wearing #3 on the IUWBB bench. Quote
