Jerry Meyer to Georgetown....Bye bye TW.

I'm holding out hope but your probably right.

Really feel this is a bad call for Waters also. If the Georgetown offense doesn't make these changes its really gonna hold him back.

Georgetown is a great academic institution, a historically relevant and big name basketball program, is closer to his home, and is a clean program.

No problem for me; he's an excellent player and would have been valuable for IU, but we will have a very good class nonetheless.

Its a great school no doubt.  But I just don't think they are going to help him showcase his skills like IU would have.  And for a kid with NBA aspirations thats something that has to be a factor.

I tend to disagree; my mindset?

If you're good enough, they'll find you, like Weber State's Damion Lillard (picked #6 in first round).

If you're 5'11 and get lots of showcasing and exposure, you still probably won't get drafted, like Yogi Ferrell.

Otto Porter was the third pick a few years ago. I think some are underestimating the pull of a school like Georgetown in the mid-Atlantic. I heard an interview with Jason Williams of Duke who said in the northeast John Thompson was a coach every father wanted his son playing for. Williams said he grew up wanting to go to Georgetown but when JT retired he went to Duke. JT2 is a similar role model for young men. A tight family like Waters probably was attracted to that.

Especially Waters being from Connecticut, Georgetown is a short plane flight or train ride, or a manageable bus ride/drive. Also, games at St. John's, Villanova, Providence, and Seton Hall are all easily attended. Of course, the Big East tournament being in MSG is another opportunity for Water's family to see him play.

Villanova's national championship will help a lot of Big East schools in recruiting.

Otto Porter and Waters are very different players.  The same offense isn't necessarily going to make them both look great.

Welp someone said it yesterday, but I've got to think that the log-jam at the guard position over the next couple years may be enough to scare Waters off. Still holding out some hope, but there must be some information floating around out there if all the "experts" are changing their pick to Georgetown.. Not sure that it's the right fit, as Waters probably fits best in an up-tempo offense, and Georgetown hasn't exactly fit that mold historically. But we shall see how this plays out.

According to paps source nobody actually knows.  Crystal ball picks are just because 90% of them aren't real insiders and are just followers.  Look at the Robert Johnson Cyrstal ball for example.

I realize that these guys miss which is why I don't live and die by the Crystal Ball, but some of those guys ARE insiders. I follow Corey Evans pretty closely, and he seems to be pretty accurate. He still has IU so I like that. I'm also reassessing the situation myself, and while I believe Waters would be a starter day 1, I wonder if the plethora of guards waiting in the wings would scare him off.. It's all a guessing game unless you're Waters, but it's fun to chat about.

Most of the guys are pretty accurate, just because the nature of the following behavior. When did they add average days correct btw?  I don't think I have seen that before.  Oh its because it doesn't show up on my phone for some reason.  Weird.

Average days correct is a more telling stat for me since their is such a log jam at the %

I'll be disappointed if we don't get Waters BUT we are recruiting some top notch 2018 PGs and we will have senior Rojo/Newkirk in 2017. Waters would not be the worst recruiting miss, although I would still love to have him (especially if his commitment is attractive to a high quality big).
