I think there is more to it than that for it to be so cut and dry. Family for instance is huge. Situation is another. They could be in a great situation and great location. Now if the coach were single and with no affiliation to the community or school I would agree with you.

If you were a basketball coach and were not at one of the top 30 other programs and didn't want the iu job then you dont want to be successful and should just quit coaching. If duke or unc had sanctions and they call you to come in and coach who wouldn't? Not sure what Marquette paid crean but i bet he made some nice cash being mediocre at iu. If you actually know what you are doing you could make alot more cash at iu and most coaches know that and also believe they know what they are doing

I agree some may have personal reasons but most guys who are coaching to be successful in that profession would take the job where the sky is the limit

We just need to give CTC some options. If we get the fan base excited over at _______________ University and hit their forums up with, "hey, Coach Crean would do AWESOME with your program.....blah...blah...blah.... maybe, just maybe, the news will get involved and say, "the fans at _____________University really could use a "legend of a coach" like CTC. Look how he rebuilt IU after the sanctions. That's what i'm trying to do since my letters to Glass come back as a blanket "thank you for your support". Bitching on this forum isn't doing me any good either.

P.S., the University i have been working with is Missouri! What a great fit that would be!!!

For some, sure. Not for all. Especially for those that actually have gone to games in the past and present and don't watch only basketball on tv. Not a bad thing, but obviously those people haven't seen the renovations and only see Crean. I can't blame those people for feeling the way they do misguided as it is.

Right now I'm too focused on hating on Crean as our coach to worry about Glass. If he makes us sit through another year of this garbage then I'm not going to be a big fan of his, though.

Which renovations are you referring? I took my family to haunted hall to see the renovations at assembly hall and it looks good but unfortunately it doesn't matter what he makes nicer if our basketball team is crap. Imo

Your right about when your playing this bad AH could look amazing which IMO it does it doesnt matter. I think AH looks a lot cleaner and it has a lot better look. I loved seeing it for the first time. Cook Hall is amazing as well. Back to Creans hiring though Glass did reach out. He offered Tony first. He said no they reached out to numerous guys and Crean and Brownell were two of maybe another guy or two that wanted the job. He took the best of the worst. Crean just shouldnt have stayed as long as he did. It looked hopeful until the Syracuse debacle. Then Cody and Victor left and I knew unless he got the perfect kids we were going back to average.

Cook Hall, Memorial Stadium, and AH are his major items he has done in his time. When it was announced AH was going to be renovated it wasn't all cosmetic. There was structural repairs to keep the building going which was a popular decision.

I keep mixing my post with Fire Crean and Fire Glass lol. Greenspan had over 36 hours of talking with Crean and couldnt figure out he wasnt the right fit. That is reason number 2345997 he isnt the ad anymore.

Pitino got Amir Coffey. He was from the area. Cameron Indoor has the best in game feel than anyone in the country.

Cameron is old though and pitino has a nice class coming in next year with a to 60 guy from New York. Minnesota also has no practice facility. I'm just saying you can still win without modern buildings.
