He has been our biggest loss this season. His offense is our offense.

Jerry west award watch finalist wouldn't make a difference? Only 10 make the list. 17.6 points a game

Blackmon's offense can help but the other side of the ball he does not. It will even out

They won games before with his sub par defense. Without his offense they scored .88 points per possession and only scored 55 points against Northwestern. They lost that game because they had no offense

Adding one more terrible defender to the 152nd ranked defense isnt going make a difference

Which is why this place is great and everyone can have their opinions. While I think he is below average on the defensive end he more then makes up for it on the offensive end. He is a flat out bucket getter. While he won't win it, being a jerry West finalist is a big accomplishment. Before he got injured again many in the basketball world had him as a possible comeback player of the year candidate

He can make a difference but I just don't think he will with this team at this point in time. I think they're just sunk

You never know. There is enough talent on this team to win more games. Besides at Purdue, and at wisky the other games are winnable (yes even the other road games). Ohio st is a mess, Fran will do what he always does and try to run with IU so that should give IU a chance, Minny is trending down as well. They might win them or they might lose all 3. If Blackmon was out with injury their chances of winning would become smaller imo

Oh I do too, but minimizing his offensive game isn't right imo. Everyone has an opinion, but he most definitely gives us a better chance to win.

It's like... one person is stating facts and one is just repeating a feeling they have.

This place is great.

Blackmon does give them a better chance to win. That can't be denied. But I'm just saying with this team right now the way it is, I'm not so sure

Agree that we have a better chance.  It took 3 guys with career highs and 3 OT's to beat PSU at Assembly Hall;  hard for me to think that if JBJ plays Sunday that his return to action is the difference between a W and an L at Wisconsin.

Against Wiscy I think Blackmon playing is the difference between a respectable loss and a total beatdown. He's a guy you can't leave open within 25 feet and without him on the court they can focus on shutting down Rojo. His defense isn't good, but frankly no one on a team is very good at that. He at least can more than make up for it on the offensive side.

Yeah he might as well sit out Sunday at Wisconsin. IU is not winning that game either way. But if he returns for the Purdue game next Thursday, that's definitely a more winnable game. Purdue is good but I do believe they're overrated to an extent. How they could lose to Minnesota, Iowa and Nebraska is beyond me. They're gonna lose tomorrow at Maryland as well

Because to quote a D1 coach I talked to at a high school game "fans do not understand how hard it is to win on the road in conference". Minny game was at home but to me that says that besides wisky there isn't much separation between teams 2-13. Rutgers still sucks

But if a team is so good, they shouldn't lose to one inferior opponent, let alone three. If you lose one, you had a bad day. But three? Your team is not elite
