Wait seriously? It'd be a huge shock if he got drafted, Yogi does way more than him that translated to the NBA in a draft that was weaker than this one, and he didn't get drafted. Promising to be "stashed" in the d league won't get you drafted

Yes!! Seriously. Yogi's size prevented him and if you watch the draft and pay attention to it then you would know Yogi had the same option. There were 2-3 teams that asked him if he would do it to be drafted. He took the risk and wanted to make his own way. The NBA is becoming a 3 point game more and more and James is a better shooter than Yogi. Yogi compared to other PG's wasn't off the charts. JBJ compared to the other 2s in this draft is a lot better of a shooter.

Do you have quotes from Yogi or anything? Cause it sounds like you're just hypothesizing..... Is it because he just got signed by the Mavs? That doesn't really have anything to do with being drafted against being a second round pick. A lot of second round picks get cut anyways. Him getting signed by the Mavs is just how the D-League currently works rather than how the NBA wants it to going forward, which is more like the minors in baseball. Why would you rather go undrafted and more than likely have to light it up in summer league which isn't a guarantee and hope the teams that didn't like you enough to draft you would then like you enough to sign you after summer league? Getting drafted would mean a team likes you a ton and ups your chances of getting a guaranteed contract. Again do you have quotes or something, cause banking on yourself rather than getting a better chance of getting the guaranteed money and job security is just insane.

Also, James is just as undersized as a two guard as Yogi is at point, if anything its gonna be worse for him since 2 guards are gonna go in the post more than a point guard. Again Yogi can actually do things other than shoot, JBJ literally can't do anything against next level competition besides shoot the ball. And even then he requires someone create for him. The narrative that if you can shoot you'll make it isn't really accurate either, see Jimmer Fredette. If you can't create good looks for yourself you won't cut it. Klay, Steph, and Durant are amazing at creating good looks for themselves, and others.

Yogi believed in himself that is why he turned them down and actually several other kids did too. You would sign a contract stating you were to be in the d league for the whole year and no other team could claim your rights. He turned it down so he pick the team he went to being undrafted and knew he could be in the d league regardless. He wanted the chance to make the NBA and from his contract w the mavs and playing w the nets in some games he has already made the smart choice.

When i try to post the whole thing it shows blank. Just type Yogi Ferrell draft and stash on google and scroll down to Jake Fishers tweets. If none of you have heard about this it kinda surprises me honestly. I follow the NBA very close but this was talked about on most IU sites during the draft.

You realize Nick Zeisloft, Christian Watford, Earl Calloway, Will Sheehey all played or play in the d league thats just IU. It isn't hard to make it to the D League lol the pay is just horrible compared to overseas. If all those guys made it I'm pretty sure Yogi was confident worse case he could play in that league.
