Random IUWBB Recruiting

Recommended Posts

I can't find his tweet but yesterday I saw a  tweet from Jeremy Price that IUWBB was pursuing '22 PG Paulina Paris who had previously committed to Penn State but had since re-opened her recruitment.  He included a picture of Paulina standing wth Coach Moren.  She attends Saddle River Day HS in Saddle River, NJ.  ESPN rates her as a 4-star recruit and #46 in the nation.  Last season's game stats:  https://highschoolsports.nj.com/player/paulina-paris-1/girlsbasketball/season/2020-2021

Interesting addition. She played 26 mpg for Providence. Numbers and percentages don’t look so good, but she brings good size. Will she be Holmes backup?

You can’t teach 6’4” especially in the women’s game. Teams with a (really) big 5 always seem to be tough to matchup with, so I like the pickup. Especially if Gulbe moves on.

Good question.  Somebody has to replace Gulbe.  We're bringing in 2 foreign players that we know so little about and what roles they'll be expected to fill.  Meister is the heir apparent to Mack but I don't see her getting a ton of playing time as a freshman even in a back-up role unless she's uber talented.

IMO, it's not if Gulbe moves on.  She went through senior night and expressed a desire to return to Europe to be closer to family especially with what's taking place in the Ukraine.  She went through a couple of bad (for her) games in the B1G tourney and I wondered if it wasn't that her mind was elsewhere.

Tough to judge her by the numbers in my opinion. She played on a really bad Providence team. (11W-19L) Our offense moves the ball really well and Moren will get her the ball in better places on the court to take advantage of that size. If nothing else with some good entry passes she can draw fouls, and she’s an 81% FT shooter.

Top-100 ranked 2022 prospect Imarianah Russell, 5-11 W, Reynoldsburg HS (OH), has announced that she's decommitting from West Virginia WBB; Indiana & Ohio State were among her five finalists.

Intriguing. Dont we have about 5 scholarships open? I mean, I'm a Jackson Co native... so I am supporting Moren till the end lol... but holy guy do we have girls transfer out at a high rate.
