Like.. we didn't just luck into getting Parrish and Scalia. We had minutes available for them... a lot of mins.

I 100% disagree.  IU Ladies need more help in the top 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 to blend in minutes and absolutely don’t need 10th or 11th girls on bench from transfer portal.  This is not PU, Penn State, Wisconsin etc etc.  Again looking for 0 level of drop off in play.

And L.M. did a really good job 2022-23…and will continue as long as she can play behind Holmes. Lexi Bargesser is a drop off in play though she does a good job at times.  Yes, they will be improved.  Again I repeat…talking a struggle to place in top 3 or 4 in conference and getting past sweet 16 vs CHAMPIONSHIPS.

I appreciate your passion, but if we bring in girls to play ahead of Lexus Bargesser... I see no reason she wouldn't transfer. She will be a SO PG, highly thought of, played a lot this past year.... she should be the backup PG and playing 12mins+ a game this coming year.... getting Wiggins as your 3rd option is fantastic.

But... I don't see that we will have a drop-off in play from--CMM, Scalia, Lexus, Lilly, Holmes, Sydney, Henna, Garzon... plus, the 2 FR who are considered pretty highly ranked. That's a really good 10... Wiggins, and another 6'4+ girl thats a vet, Geary ish, and willing to accept that role.

Don't need girls as the 10th/11th person on the bench as transfers doesn't make sense. We had Geary this past year in that role and she was a transfer. Wiggins would be no different. We aren't offering transfers mins... that's not going to bring in any of the big ones, unless we get incredibly lucky.

Show me where we have the mins to add someone better than Wiggins.

This year alone:

Holmes 31

Parrish 29

Garzon 30

CMM 34

Scalia 27

were there MPG avgs...

That's only 49 mins left right there.... Meister plays 18, Bargesser plays 15, Henna 12. 4 more mins to spread towards the top 6, as well.

Unknowns…not conceding 18 for L.M., 15 for Bargesser, and Henna at 12 plus team (injury related) and game circumstances (fouls etc).

Funny…T. Moren and the whole IU Ladies program have exceeded my expectations since T. Moren was hired.  Now, (fair, unfair)….Now, the expectations have changed as in higher and are greedy meaning in a positive way….And how time flies.  IU Ladies basketball program are in the process to seize the moment.

If you don't think those 3 should be getting those mins next year... idk. That's your opinion. I think Meister should be getting no less than that amount.

All 3 of our current freshmen will be important contributors moving forward. CTM has said so, herself.

3 OTHER FR not including Garzon... and our staff takes a back seat to NO ONE in terms of developing talent... this staff doesn't need others to develop what they need.

CMM, Holmes, Berger... big, big improvements in their games during their off seasons here. Even Gulbe, and others, too.

I hope Lilly's minutes increase to take some wear and tear off Mack.  On one hand I want Mack to have a year that places her contention for POY but at the same time concerned that she's suffered two injuries in late season that impacted her as well as the team.  Between the proverbial rock and a hard place I guess.

I don't think so to the bold... I think it's 100% a moves that need made, the stuff you mentioned early in that post... piss on the national awards, if that's what we are shooting for... run track, swim, play tennis. This is a team sport.

I also wouldn't be surprised if we play Garzon at the 3, Meister+Holmes on the court and then zone on the defensive end. 3 girls with skill 6'3+ on the court... all of them good shot blockers, as well... lets LB and CMM distribute, pressure the ball. It could work.

I'm sold on Henna, LB, and Meister as one of the best benches in the country, though.

If you don’t have Mackenzie Holmes playing at POY or All American level or close to it or first team big ten level…then IU Ladies lost 2 of their last 3 games (not counting Iowa) and at home with 15000 fans created inferior competition of Miami….Yes, 2nd year players will probably be quite a bit better….but 1 high level plug in needed for Berger but higher level than IU bench.
And one big girl to help Holmes with Meister…my example of Ware (leg in a brace) may want to preserve her knee so it will be somewhat healthy when she gets older…and not sure if it’s worth the risk.  But a win-win would be to play from time to time.  Not sure if she even thinks that way.  I use Ware as example but it could be someone else.

Why do you need a big girl to help if you have Holmes, Meister, Garzon, and Parrish can play the 4? We were lucky to have someone as decent as Geary in that spot this year.

I mean, Ware is fine... but she isn't playing anywhere close to the 22mins per game she played at AZ. I think a lot of your wants are very unrealistic.

Ware did not play last year. Surgery

2 years ago at AZ she played 22 mins per game. We don't have that for her here... probably not even close to that.

In those 22 mins she avged 6p 4r.... I think Lilly would avg more points and more rebs, easily, if given 22 mins a night.

Regarding Ware…has been injury prone some on college level.  It would be some risk for IU.  Not sure what the update expectations are on Ware.  A healthy Holmes Meister gets 5 to 10 minutes and Ware 5 to 8 minutes.  However, if Holmes gets in an unfortunate situation then each player minutes could significantly increase. (insurance) Again, I use Ware as example but it could be another good big.  IU Ladies need one more capable big girl and a Berger replacement plug in type player.
Gone are Geary and of course the player Brown was a couple years ago.

I have no interest in Ware taking any mins from Meister. She can sit behind her and not play at all. That's the only spot we have for her. We are not bringing in a big to take mins from Lilly. It's just not going to happen.

We don't have the mins for your wants.

Disagree.  It’s not about taking minutes from anyone.

It doesn’t have to be Ware.  It definitely can be someone else.  Another big girl is needed.

And I've agreed with that. But the caveat is.. they're 3rd fiddle. We have one of, if not the best, front courts in the country next year and we don't need a transfer getting mins. They can be a depth piece, we do not need another big girl in our rotation, though.

Again.. Gearys role from this past season is all we need.

Ware can come here... but she's #3 on the depth chart if so and probably won't play as much as Geary did.

It's 100% about taking mins from someone. And being realistic about who we can actually add.

Do you think IU Ladies can stand pat with current roster and add no significant player for 2023-24 and have a really good chance to win regular season conference and/or big ten tournament and get to final 4???
