Fife wasn't announced before Woodson. Woodson was announced on 3/28/21 and Fife was announced on 4/5/21.

Maybe someone at Duquesne talked to someone at IPFW and, as a result, decided to go in a different direction.

2022 NCAA Tournament / Bracket Reveal

I stopped trying to please negative, snarky people a long time ago. It’s a waste of time because they just find something else to ***** about, as they mistakenly believe it makes them look cool. -
2022 NCAA Tournament / Bracket Reveal

They played 3 games in 13 days. We played 5 games in 8 days. But I get it. It’s cool to be negative. -

Yeah, he was looking at an NFL job three minutes after going to Notre Dame. Don’t think I’d trust him if I was a player. -
Mike Woodson and His Coaching Staff

Woodson and then Fife. Those are your next 20 years. Take it or leave it. Personally, most of us prefer you leave it rather than turn this place into another POS board like Rivals. -

Matt Painter was 9-19 his first year. You’d have been here bitching every 13 seconds and then killed yourself. -

Yeah, the old guard BOT is gone, and Dolson isn’t going anywhere. -

Just curious, you folks that use the term “administration,” who specifically are you talking about that you want replaced? -

We’d be national powers in football and basketball. -
I’m the first one to stand up against racial injustice, but you’re wrong on this one. Further, making something about race when it isn’t diminishes the work that I and others do on real racial issues. People refuse to listen to the important issues when you falsely make something like this about race.

Funny how many people sing that tune until they’re the one that gets punched. Then the song always changes.

What college team(s) impress you?

The Big 10 has 6 of the top 28 teams in the NET rankings as of today (Indiana #10, Nebraska #12, Maryland #18, Michigan #21, Ohio State #26, and Iowa #28). It's not quite the best conference in the country, but it's far from "mediocre." -

I'll miss you here on Christmas Eve while you're outside booing Santa Claus. -
December 12, 1986: After leading by 14 at halftime, Indiana survives a last-second shot attempt and holds on to beat North Carolina-Wilmington 73-72 to advance to the championship game of the “Indiana Classic.” That Indiana team would go on to win the 1987 National Championship. It happens to the best of them.

Illinois is gonna suck this year.

First, probably 98% of college sports teams have player names on the back of the jerseys. So I would argue the "infatuation" is with those who don't want them on. I am one of the "old guys." I am 55 and have a son who may within a year or two be a recruited athlete. I'm not sure how Indiana would convince him they are at the forefront of NIL while also telling him his name won't even be allowed on the back of his jersey. Look, I understand the "tradition" of not having player names on jerseys. But I would argue that the "tradition" was actually just a coaching tool of one coach. Other coaches have different coaching tools. For example, Terry Hoeppner's coaching tool was to put names on the jerseys because "you play for the name on the front of the jersey and you are accountable for the name on the back." I just think with all the changes coming, for the good of the program as a whole, it's time to rethink this outdated "tradition."

I'm all for it, and with players' names on the back.
