As I tell my wife, I feel like I’ve watched the same movie 250 times, but still wonder if it will end any differently the next time.

The problem with computer ratings and the Summit Athletic Conference is they don’t play nonconference games (until next season) so they’re not connected to the rest of the teams in the state. While Sagarin puts in an artificial factor based on past seasons, that factor seems to change from week to week for whatever reason. But it’s really just a pretty meaningless educated guess until the playoff start and they play some out of conference games.

I don't know. Why does there necessarily always have to be "bad?" If everything is good and you're looking for bad, are you actually a realist? If we don't get a certain recruit, is that actually "bad," or do people "realistically" believe we'll get every recruit we offer?

While I supported Archie until midway through his final year, I never thought he was the best coach available when he was hired. Chris Beard and Brad Underwood in particular had better track records and probably would have taken the job back then. And I know people around here don't like Underwood, but I think he is going to have Illinois contending for a long time. Really glad we have Woodson, though.

I can assure you they are not making it up as they go along. A someone who used to be very active in the Alumni Association, we were told years before they joined that the Big 10 wanted Rutgers and Maryland. They have been chasing Notre Dame for decades, and wanted Texas for many, many years. Just because you aren't privy to something doesn't mean it hasn't been happening. Will they regret it later? Time will tell, but it's been in the works, and in fact actually been happening, for a long time, and nobody regrets it yet.

Horizon League as a whole is not good, but Davis is legit.

Fife wasn't announced before Woodson. Woodson was announced on 3/28/21 and Fife was announced on 4/5/21.

Maybe someone at Duquesne talked to someone at IPFW and, as a result, decided to go in a different direction.

I’m the first one to stand up against racial injustice, but you’re wrong on this one. Further, making something about race when it isn’t diminishes the work that I and others do on real racial issues. People refuse to listen to the important issues when you falsely make something like this about race.

The Big 10 has 6 of the top 28 teams in the NET rankings as of today (Indiana #10, Nebraska #12, Maryland #18, Michigan #21, Ohio State #26, and Iowa #28). It's not quite the best conference in the country, but it's far from "mediocre."
