Let’s talk Roster! 2026/2027
IUHoosierJoe replied to WayneFleekHoosier's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Last week, people were talking about Dorn possibly starting next year. Now we’re talking about getting someone as good or better to be somewhere around the 9th man. Crazy. -
IU could have had Fru, but stopped recruiting him to go after Sherrell.

That was always my question with Bailey. He just seemed like he completely lost his confidence. -

Michigan State fans are having a rough time on social media. I mean, we took their best football player, we’re gonna take their best basketball portal recruit, and big brother just won a national championship. Dark days in East Lansing, and I think we’re at the top of their s**t list. Gotta love it! -

Plenty of good players get their coach fired. Hell, I remember when Eric Gordon and DJ White got a really crappy interim coach fired. -
My wife spent a year at BG as well, back in the day. Later, in 2003-04, watched Dakich-coached Bowling Green take on PFW (IPFW back then). Dakich got T’d up 16 seconds into the game and Bowling Green lost. It was one of the two D-1 wins IPFW had that season, lol.

She’s not that old. It just seems like because Moren started recruiting her in middle school and offered her a scholarship in 8th grade. She was one of those that was far more developed physically at that age and looked dominant, but was much less so when the other kids caught up to her physically. -

She’s an excellent coach. -

As long as we're not hiring their coach, we should be fine. -
Just ridiculous at this point. Agree with you about getting a coach who has built rather than a guy who has inherited. That's the key in any sport. But I'd also take Lemonis back in a heartbeat over what we have.

I'm confused too. I thought "no juice" was the cool new phrase. -
I think he tried the high-end-talent route in the early-2010s and it didn’t work out very well.

99.9%, only because essentially nothing is 100%. -

I think there are a few posters here who think they’re Red Auerbach. -
Apparently there were 3 grand slams in the game, 2 by Oregon.

The basketball program has hired two Carrs. Cig is driving the pace car. I think our athletic programs are off and running. -
Not sure what happened, but wow, we lost 24-12.

A lot of his renaissance is the result of a weak ACC the last several years. He still gets consistently beaten by good and really good teams.

Odds/Thoughts on building top 25 preseason

Just curious, what has Rabby said about Drake and Miller returning? I don’t know a great deal about either, but I know Miller can rebound, which we desperately need. -
Your "reliable source" is incorrect on why Dusty isn't coaching here. While I'll certainly agree with you that we have some dumb fans, that has nothing to do with why he isn't here. And I will also tell you that, at least several years ago, Bruce Pearl certainly would have crawled here to coach. And that's personal knowledge, no "sources" involved.

There were a lot of people on this board and social media in general who, two or three years ago, said Dusty May was “mid major flavor of the month” and that nobody would want him here if wasn’t an IU grad. I remember it clearly because many were in response to my posts as to how good May is. But of course most will deny saying that now. I have posted this here before, but my son has talked at great length with one of Crean’s former assistants about Crean as a head coach. He said Crean is as good as anybody at X’s and O’s and coaching adjustments, but is held back by a lack of organizational skills. Where Cig has a “process” and “routine” and “working the plan,” Crean had chaos. Good coach, bad CEO, so to speak.

You understand it better than the refs, I guarantee.

I was encouraged by the Oregon series. Didn’t win any but competed with a very good team.

The thing is...if it comes down to Auburn or Texas for the last spot, Auburn is higher in the WAB, higher in the NET, and beat Texas head-to-head (albeit at Auburn).
