You make some good points here, and Smiley sounds intriguing. I’d be interested to know how he coaches: does he stress fundamentals…solid defense, good pitching, discipline at the plate? As Wayne points out, we are less than the sum of our parts (recruiting has been pretty decent) because we are sorely lacking in those areas. And we can’t let this go on any longer or the program will be in the gutter.

This seems to be one of those things that’s a matter of fact that everybody is gonna have their opinions about anyway. It would seem pretty silly for Dolson & Company to lie about the organizational chart when the reporting structure is spelled out in the employees’ contracts and can be requested at any time. Was DeVries’ contract amended to indicate that he reports to Carr? Or does Carr’s contract indicate he reports to DeVries? There isn’t anything in anybody’s head that overrides the contracts.

They were #365 out of 365 in KenPom. So the good news for him is they literally can’t get any worse.

Plenty of good players get their coach fired. Hell, I remember when Eric Gordon and DJ White got a really crappy interim coach fired.

My wife spent a year at BG as well, back in the day. Later, in 2003-04, watched Dakich-coached Bowling Green take on PFW (IPFW back then). Dakich got T’d up 16 seconds into the game and Bowling Green lost. It was one of the two D-1 wins IPFW had that season, lol.

She’s not that old. It just seems like because Moren started recruiting her in middle school and offered her a scholarship in 8th grade. She was one of those that was far more developed physically at that age and looked dominant, but was much less so when the other kids caught up to her physically.

She’s an excellent coach.

Just ridiculous at this point. Agree with you about getting a coach who has built rather than a guy who has inherited. That's the key in any sport. But I'd also take Lemonis back in a heartbeat over what we have.

A lot of his renaissance is the result of a weak ACC the last several years. He still gets consistently beaten by good and really good teams.

Your "reliable source" is incorrect on why Dusty isn't coaching here. While I'll certainly agree with you that we have some dumb fans, that has nothing to do with why he isn't here. And I will also tell you that, at least several years ago, Bruce Pearl certainly would have crawled here to coach. And that's personal knowledge, no "sources" involved.
